OBID RFID by FEIG ELECTRONIC OBID classic / OBID classic-pro RFID Reader Technology for Security Applications

OBID RFID Reader Technologies RFID Readers from the number 1 manufacturer FEIG ELECTRONIC specialized in contactless identification (RFID), electronic controls and sensor technology. We are a world-wide, leading manufacturer of door control devices, detectors and RFID readers. Our RFID readers are sold under the brand name OBID. For over 40 years we have been leveraging our manufacturing and technology expertise to provide highly reliable and innovative products to our customers. In addition to our standard products, we also work with our partners to develop customized solutions to meet individual requirements. We advance the development of essential technology and markets though participation in basic research and standardization in close cooperation with universities, organizations and industrial partners. As an OEM supplier, our products are only available through the system integrator and reseller channels.

OBID RFID reader systems set the standard for contactless indentification of individuals and objects. All our readers support transponders according to international standards like ISO or EPCglobal as well as well accepted, proprietary transponders. All our readers have international radio approvals according to ETSI or FCC. We offer a comprehensive product line of readers for the following three frequency ranges: tt LF (125 khz) OBID classic / OBID megalock tt HF (13,56 MHz) OBID classic-pro / OBID i-scan HF tt UHF (860 956 MHz) OBID i-scan UHF Quality assurance is the main objective at FEIG ELECTRONIC. Our quality management system is certified to be in conformance with DIN ISO 9001:2008. We are equally focused on providing individualized support for our partners as they develop and design their products and solutions. We offer regularly scheduled technology and product training to help our partners and customers independently plan, install and maintain their own applications. ISO 9001:2008 DEKRA Certification certified Quality Management We are certified Voluntary participation in regular monitoring according to ISO 9001:2008

OBID RFID Reader Technologies OBID : secure and reliable RFID technology The OBID classic-pro (13.56 MHz) and OBID classic (125 khz) Reader families are ideally suited for security applications, like personal access control, ticketing, ID card identification, payment systems and electronic fare management. For vehicle access control, UHF technology allows reading ranges of several meters. Some typical OBID family reader applications are described in the following pages. If your specific application is not listed, please feel free to contact us, as we will most certainly have the applicable RFID components for your requirements. PERSONAL ACCESS CONTROL Just passing by: How can you monitor and determine who has access authorization and who does not? Access control systems equipped with OBID readers facilitate reliable and wireless identification of transponders within networked systems, at any sized facility. TICKETING Quicker entrance to the ski lift or sporting event: ticketing applications equipped with OBID readers reduce waiting times and clearly increase participants enjoyment. ID CARD IDENTIFICATION Safely controlled: digital edocuments provide complete security. Passport and identity cards are more forgery-proofed and can be read securely by using OBID readers; as an example, at a border control. These cards may also be utilized with electronic health insurance and other personalized Smart Cards.

PAYMENT SYSTEMS Fast transaction at the cash register: Smart credit cards with an integrated RFID chip can be read by OBID readers within a short distance. This allows a fast, reliable, and most of all, secure payment process. Furthermore, the readers are perfectly suited for integration into vending and ticket machines, kiosk systems and charging stations. ELECTRONIC FARE MANAGEMENT Cashless bus & train entry: OBID reader components provide faster payment procedures within public transit systems. This relieves a burden for the driver, reduces departure delays and improves user experience. VEHICLE ACCESS CONTROL Free entry with RFID: UHF technology allows for reading ranges of several meters and is well suited to be used for Perimeter Protection and parking management. Equipped with an UHF transponder, authorized vehicles pass the access road which is controlled and checked by the UHF stand-alone reader at company or private use parking lots.

OBID RFID Reader Technologies STAND-ALONE COMPLETE SYSTEMS (125 khz / 13.56 MHz / UHF) Stand-alone Complete Systems require no host connection as they manage the access offline. Entry-level systems are access control terminals for up to 200 users. Transponders are programmed or deleted individually by using a master card. Access control terminals for IP-based networks manage up to 9,000 users in stand-alone operation. FEIG also offers UHF-based standalone vehicle access control readers, which provide parking applications with read ranges of several meters. HOUSING READERS (125 khz AND 13.56 MHz) OBID classic and OBID classic-pro Housing Readers are most typically used for access control applications. In addition to an entry-level reader that only reads the transponder serial number and has a data clock interface, most of the multi-tag readers have multiple interfaces and are suitable for both box mount and surface mount installation. For integration into existing LAN networks, online and offline reader versions are available.

OBID A comprehensive family of RFID readers for highly demanding applications OBID offers complete product families (125 khz and 13.56 MHz) for security applications. Reader modules, housed readers and desk top readers are available. FEIG ELECTRONIC also offers UHF stand-alone readers for vehicle access control. More detailed information for the devices can be found in the corresponding data sheets or on our website www.feig.de. DESKTOP READERS (125 khz AND 13.56 MHz) OBID classic and OBID classic-pro Desktop Readers are directly connected to a PC for use at the Point of Sale with cash registers, receiption desks, counters etc. The USB versions of these readers provide for fast data transfer rates as well as easy and reliable integration into existing host systems via a PC/SC driver. The design award-winning OBID desktop readers are very flat, and will fit into any décor or environment. READER MODULES (125 khz AND 13.56 MHz) 125 khz multi-tag reader modules with integrated antenna ID RW01 and ID RWA02 are especially well suited for integration into access control and time and attendance terminals and vending machines. ID RWA02 is able to operate as a stand-alone reader, configuring the most important functions of the reader in an offline operational mode. 13.56 MHz multi-tag reader modules ID CPR are available in two versions, one with an integrated antenna and another for use with an external antenna. They are most often used for ticketing, epayment and NFC applications and offer, depending on the reader version, several interfaces, 3.3V or 5V power supply and optionally, up to four SAM sockets for additional security functions.
