FLORIDA STATE FIRE COLLEGE Safety Solutions has partnered with the Marion County School Board at the Florida State Fire College to offer complete access to a state-of-the-art parking garage collapse simulator, full rubble pile, complete canine training props, and extensive urban search & rescue training areas. In addition, we have transportation and hotel contracts in place to better facilitate your on-site training experience. Our training facilities include: 110 dormitories with individual bathrooms On-site cafeteria staffed with world class chef service breakfast and lunch daily State-of-the-art classrooms with multimedia capabilities Complete computer lab and library on-site to assist with fire service related research Urban Search & Rescue Site: HEAVY LIFTING AND MOVING STATION that will challenge even the most experienced rescuer. AIRBAG STATION featuring high pressure, medium pressure, and low pressure airbag deployment. SHORING STATION that allows for the most complex shoring scenarios. CONCRETE BREACHING AND BREAKING STATION (horizontal / vertical), This station also allows for the confined space breaching, suspended breaches, and surgical lift outs. FEMA COMPLIANT RUBBLE PILES that will allow for crane use and technical search equipment skill enhancement. CUTTING AND BURNING STATION that utilizes four types of cutting and burning touches. This area also features out of position cuts, cutting from a man basket, and cutting under tension. FIVE STORY COLLAPSE SIMULATOR that replicates a parking garage collapse. This is not a sterile environment and provides real world simulation to test the skills of the Rescue Technician.

FEMA EQUIVALENT STRUCTURAL COLLAPSE TECHNICIAN DATE: SEPTEMBER 17-24, 2012 COST: $1,600 PER PERSON LOCATION: OCALA, FL - FLORIDA STATE FIRE COLLEGE 11655 NW GAINESVILLE ROAD, OCALA, FL 34482-1486 This FEMA Equivalent Technician Level course currently meets and exceeds NFPA 1670 and 1006 requirements for Structural Collapse Technician. In addition the course is FEMA Equivalent for the Rescue Specialist and uses the currently approved curriculum, exceeds the FEMA site requirements, and utilizes currently approved FEMA instructors. This is the exact training program currently delivered to all of the FEMA Urban Search and Rescue Task Forces nationwide. Safety Solutions Inc. is the current approved FEMA training provider that provides state-of-the-art training for all 28 Federal US&R Task Forces as well as rescue teams from India, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Philippines and Nepal. This course includes a combination of hands on activities, field work, lectures, case studies and group work. Course requires 8 days (80 hours) and student to instructor ratio of 6:1. At the conclusion of this course the Student shall be capable of hazard recognition, equipment use, and techniques necessary to operate safely and effectively at structural collapse incidents involving the collapse or failure of concrete tilt-up, reinforced concrete, and steel construction. They will learn the process for search operations intended to locate victims trapped inside and beneath collapse debris as well as procedures for accessing and extricating victims trapped beneath collapse debris.

866.248.1050 STUDENT REQUIREMENTS Students are required to bring the following items to class EACH day: Helmet, must be ANSI rates Z89.1--1997 Type 1 Steel toe safety boots, must be ANSI Z41 PT99 M1/75 C/75 Eye protection, must be ANSI Z-87.1 Work gloves (extrication style gloves) Standard work/duty clothing w/long sleeve shirts Rain gear suitable for search and rescue operations Kneepads N-95 dust mask Half face respirator with organic vapor cartridges Class exercises are conducted rain or shine. TRAVEL INFORMATION Airports Students have the option of flying in to any nearby airport that is most convenient. Students are responsible for making their own flight reservations.
