PROGRAMME OVERVIEW L ogistics is the term widely used in the business field for the range of activities associated with the movement of storage and handling of materials. The management of logistics has been revolutionized over the past 0 years and has been regarded as a key determinant of business competitiveness. Companies have substantially improved their competitiveness not only by overhauling their internal logistic, but also by managing their external links with suppliers effectively. This has become known as Supply Chain Management. Supply Chain Management is becoming increasingly important for organizations and at the same time providing more challenges for the responsible individuals. As the market increases in both volatility and complexity due to globalization, supply chain management has become a crucial factor in the lengthening supply chains, often associated with greater vulnerability to interruptions and delays. These developments have created a great demand for well-qualified logistic and supply chain managers, executives and employees in various sectors of the economy. The Department of Polytechnic Education (DPE) has worked collaboratively with the nation s logistic and supply chain industries in developing the curriculum for the programme. This collaboration aims to equip students with the current knowledge and relevant skills in meeting the global challenges and the requirements of the logistic and supply chain industries, enabling them to have a competitive edge in the workplace. Thus, the Curriculum Development and Evaluation Division (CDED) at the Department of Polytechnic Education (DPE) has cooperated with the logistic and supply chain industries in introducing the Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management programme. This curriculum integrates the logistic and supply chain activities with the relevant academicians and vocational logistic management principles, technology, skills and knowledge via a variety of innovative teaching and learning techniques.

PROGRAMME AIMS Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management graduates will be able to apply fundamental, current knowledge and skills for effective logistics management with the right professional attitudes and ethics in their future career. PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEO) The Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management programme shall produce semi professional who are: 1. knowledgeable, technically competent and be able to adapt in Logistics and Supply Chain Management discipline with new technological advancement and challenges.. communicative in social skills, leadership qualities and willing to be responsible towards developing community and country.. capable to solve logistic security problems innovatively, creatively and ethically to secure organizations against internal and external security threats. 4. able to demonstrate entrepreneurship skills and recognize the need of lifelong learning for successful career advancement.

REGULATIONS FOR COURSE REGISTRATION COURSE REGISTRATION Students must: 1. Register courses within seven (7) days after semester begins.. Obtain the advice from Academic Advisor (PA) before register.. Submit the completed form to the Academic Advisor (PA) 4. Finally get the signature of Academic Advisor and Head of Department. COURSE CREDIT for each course is as stated in the Document Kurikulum dan Struktur Kursus approved by Lembaga Kurikulum Kursus Pengajian dan program Latihan Politeknik. Number of credits to be taken by the student for each semester is between Twelve ( 1) to Twenty (0) or as specified in the Document Kurikulum dan Struktur Program. The minimum credit amount to be collected by the students before they are eligible to be considered for the award of a certificate are stated in the Document Kurikulum dan Struktur Program. CARRY COURSES/CARRY SEMESTER Students need to repeat all failed courses (grade point <.00) including the General Courses (such as Islamic Studies, Civilization etc) and the Dicipline Courses. Students with carry courses must discuss and get advice from Academic Advisor (PA) and approved by Head Of Department. Students should repeat all the learning activities of the courses in addition to other courses for that semester. DROP/ADD COURSES Students who have registered for courses can drop or add courses, provided that the number of credit hours for that semester no less or no more than a specified number of credit hours. The dropping and adding courses must be done within the prescribed period and they must seek for advice from Academic Advisor (PA) and approval from Head of Department.

Drop/Add courses can be done during the third to six ( rd 6 th ) week of the semester. ATTENTION Students who have registered should follow the learning activities for the course. In order to evaluate the learning activities undertaken by a student, students must achieve a minimum percentage of attendance.
