Getting Started with VMware Horizon View (Remote Desktop Access) Using VMware Horizon View with Tablet and Smartphone APP or Mobile Web Browser You can use the web browser on your smartphone but it s recommended to use the APP. Horizon View Client for ios is available from the Apple itunes store or Horizon Client for Android is available from the Google Play store. For this document we will be using the Apple client. Go to the app store on your Smartphone or tablet and search for vmware horizon view client. Download and install. Press the new installed icon
For the server address type desktop.tenafly.k12.nj.us (the description is optional). Press Add Server. Enter your district network username and password. Depending on the permissions that are granted to a user you will be presented with desktops. Press on desktop to select
Click ok. You now have a window 7 desktop.
The circle on the screen will expand to give easy access to funtions. To exit press start logoff. If you do not log off the system will force a log off and you will lose all unsaved data.
Getting Started with VMware Horizon View (Remote Desktop Access) PC Client Install This document will walk through the installation of the Horizon View client on a Windows 7 computer. From any browser go to desktop.tenafly.k12.nj.us Click on Install VMware Horizon Client Select client (for this demo I will select Windows 64-bit). Click on Go to Downloads To find which edition of Windows 7 you are using Open System by clicking the Start button, right-clicking Computer, and then clicking Properties. The edition of Windows 7 you're running is displayed under Windows edition near the top of the window. Click on Download and run the installer.
Click on Next Check the box that says I accept the terms in the License Agreement Then click Next Select IPv4 (this should be the default) then click next.
Keep the defaults and click Next. Add desktop.tenafly.k12.nj.us to the Default Horizon Connection Server then click Next. For home or non-district owned computers keep defaults. District computers contact technology.
Keep defaults and click next. Click on Install to begin the install process
Click Finish A restart is required to complete the install. Click on Yes Click on the desktop icon to open the program. Then click on the blue cloud (desktop.tenafly.k12.nj.us) created with install. Enter your district netowrk user name and password and login.
