Special features: 1. Serial number and Bar codes: Al-andalus uses bar codes and serial numbers for: Handsets (IME number and MSN). Hardware serial numbers. The system can assemble (bundle) new products (package), whereby different items are combined together to produce a new bundled products with new serial number (or bar code numbers). 3. Installments: It is possible to sell an item using installment method, whereby an installed amount is usually added to the customer's billing invoice. There are two types of installment, with initial payment and without initial payment. In addition, the user can define the installment duration. The installment module enables the user to set up different kinds of installment methods and durations. POS Management (Sales manager) Module (POSM): The POS Manager (POSM) module is the core of the POS package. The purpose of this module is to capture data transfers from the POS centers and manages the POS centers in order to provide general statements for the firm. It is the source of the sales statements generated by ASD POS system. 2. POS Module: This module has been design in an efficient and simple way, so as it facilities the use of the system. Taking into accounts the limitation of sales users in one side and the traffic of customers in second side. In addition, specific restriction has been imposed in this module, such as the user can manipulate only a list of predefined accounts and a limited number of transactions. Technical Features ASD POS had three-tier architecture. Its is built on JAVA as a development tools for the presentation layer (User Interface, Front End), any Relational DBMS (example Oracle 8 or later, MS SQL Server 7 or Later) for the database layer (Back End), and Crystal Report (version 7 or later) as a report engine. ASD POS runs on any operating system such as UNIX, Linux, Microsoft Windows (95, 98, 2000, XP, NT) and OS2, Platform independent. Security, Access to the system is controlled through a tight security system, whereby each authorized user has a unique user ID and password that permits her/him to use specific access rights on the different options of the system. Multi-user, multi-tasks. Integration: The system can be easily integrated with all ASD products and suits, such as finance, inventory e.t.c. The Web-based version technical Features: Perfect is a completely multi-lingual web-based system that requires only a web browser (Internet Explorer) on the client side which may run any operating system (Windows, Linux, Mac etc). No More downloads or plug-ins. For the Server side, it requires a web server that supports Java preferably tomcat or JBoss with tomcat integration. Data can be stored in any database management system DBMS (mysql, Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, Informix etc ).
