DIT Aviation Team Bios Mr. Keith Merrill Keith Merrill has 20 years of experience providing IT consulting and technical engineering services to a variety of federal government and commercial clients. For over 12 years, Mr. Merrill has been providing Maximo solutions to asset intensive industries. Keith has lead, provided subject matter expertise, or participated in Maximo implementations for federal and commercial customers in the aviation, utilities, health care, manufacturing, and transportation industries. Mr. Merrill is skilled in providing business process analysis and helping customers translate requirements into system design specifications and has extensive experience building prototypes for solution validation and managing all aspects of system testing and quality assurance. Acrossall industry experience, Keith has developed Maximo end user training curriculum, delivered traditional classroom training sessions, held maintenance hanger sessions for field staff, and assisted users in one-on-one sessions focused on particular features and functionality within the Maximo application suite. Mr. Merrill started his career in the US Marine Corps as a Helicopter Avionics Technician. After obtaining his A&P and a B.S. degree in Aviation Maintenance Management from Embry-Riddle Aeronautic University, Mr. Merrill was a Flight Line Mechanic for Independence Air, a commercial airline. Mr. Merrill then became an Aviation Maintenance Inspector with Independence Air responsible for inspecting and approving items such as: flight control rigging, landing gear replacement, AD/SB compliance and occasional Minor Repairs. While working for Independence Airlines, Mr. Merrill served as the subject matter expert for new application development for the deployment of Maximo and transportation solution for managing aircraft fleets. His responsibilities include verifying the accuracy of Maximo data and the development of business processes to ensure compliance with current aviation maintenance practices and Federal Aviation Association (FAA) requirements. Mr. Merrill s experience in both Military and Commercial Aviation has allowed him to work on a variety of aircraft, including: CH-46E (Sea Knight) helicopters, Jetstream 32 s, Jetstream 41 s and Bombardier CRJ 200 s. In partnership with IBM Global Services, Mr. Merrill and DIT, Inc. provided business process and Aviation Maintenance SME functional consulting support for the US Army Aviation Training operation located at Carins Field, Ft. Rucker, AL Mr. Merrill assisted with the current Maximo implementation and deployment supporting the fleet of 188 TH-67's (Bell 206) rotary aircraft. Page 7
DIT Aviation Team Bios Mr. Andrew Carson Mr. Carson has 20 years experience developing and implementing Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) applications for Aviation. Mr. Carson was the Architect for the GOLD EAM suite s Configuration Management module. In 2001, his company Raptor ASA Corporation designed and developed the Raptor Configuration Management system, which IBM acquired in 2004. While running Raptor ASA, he led the successful implementation of Raptor at Petroleum Helicopters, Inc., and later at Independence Air. After IBM s acquisition of Raptor, Mr. Carson was the IBM Product Architect for the Maximo-Raptor merged product which IBM renamed Maximo Asset Configuration Manager (ACM). Mr. Carson was IBM s Maximo ACM Implementation leader at Rolls- Royce and Northwest Airlines. In partnership with IBM Global Services, Mr. Carson provided Maximo ACM technical support for the US Army Aviation Training operation located at Cairns Field, Ft. Rucker, AL, where he performed a number of ACM-specific data extraction, transformations, and loads to help transform historical operational data into the Maximo ACM system using a number of purpose built, custom ETL tools designed specifically for Maximo ACM and CM related data structures. Mr. Carson s work greatly accelerated the data migration process, allowing the customer to realize a faster time to value. A software developer at heart, Mr. Carson continues to develop Maximo ACM add-ons and enhancements for the Aviation industry. Most recently, he designed and developed a Fleet Management status board for the Corpus Christi US Army Aviation repair depot. Page 8
DIT Aviation & ACM Team Bios Mr. Steve Grosz Mr. Grosz is the DIT Maximo Practice Leader. He has eighteen (18) years of combined project management, enterprise architecture, functional consulting, technical application development, systems deployment, and operational support experience across a wide variety of clients, IT projects, and industries. Mr. Grosz has considerable experience managing all aspects of complex, large-scale enterprise system deployments, from requirements elicitation and definition, to system architecture, deployment planning, quality assurance, and post delivery operations and sustainment. Mr. Grosz is both a functional and technical expert in IBM Maximo and holds numerous industry certifications, including those for the IBM Maximo product. For the past ten years, Mr. Grosz has served as DIT s Senior Solution Architect, Project Manager and Practice Leader supporting several large-scale Maximo enterprise asset management engagements. In this capacity, Mr. Grosz has lead DIT s professional services team and actively participated in delivering Maximo implementations, upgrades, complex integrations and solutions development for the National Park Service, the Bureau of Indian Affairs, Aviation Fleet Services (US Army), the National Archives, Honeywell, PAE Corporation, Camber Corporation, the United States Marine Corps, and the United States Army Reserves Command. Over the last seven years, Mr. Grosz has focused on helping customers extend the reach of IBM Maximo and ensure compliance and support for asset management related mandates, regulations, and executive orders. Through his participation on numerous industry working groups, Mr. Grosz provides technical leadership and oversight, as well as industry guidance to various teams and stakeholders during the critical stages of business process development, requirements definition, and reengineering efforts. Most recently, Mr. Grosz and his professional services team have assisted several defense sector customers with a packaged Maximo solution to manage the supply chain and provide total asset visibility and enhanced mission capability reporting for organizations responsible for emergency response and large-scale disaster management.
