TimeIPS IPS125T Network Clocks Operational Overview and Benefits Dependable and Reliable Operation The IPS125T series clocks are designed to be rugged and provide years of hassle free operation. The IPS125T makes it difficult for employees or visitors to tamper with the system. All IPS125T systems include a rugged steel mounting plate with four anchor points to attach the system securely to the wall and connect to the IPS125T with tamper resistant screws. The installation allows all connecting wires to go into the wall or adjacent conduit, keeping wires out of sight and well protected. Internal controls, such as volume and LCD contrast can be secured by password. Our external keypad design even allows the keypad to be completely removed after configuration when using badges for employee identification. The internal components and assembly have been carefully designed for durability and reliability. The internal firmware and data cache is stored on a long life Intel(R) NOR flash memory chip. Although significantly more expensive than common NAND memory, NOR memory provides greatly enhanced operating life, and can retain punches and employees for years, even with power disconnected. The durable LCD display uses a solid glass front protected by a steel frame and illuminated with a long life LED backlight. In many applications, the keypad is heavily used and will eventually wear out. Although the up front cost is higher, our external keypad saves money in the long run by allowing a quick and easy replacement. Unlike other clocks that use a limited serial to ethernet conversion to provide networking, the IPS125T includes a full network stack that allows true NTP time synchronization, so you can be sure the time on the clock is always accurate. Solid Connectivity Keeping with the need for unsurpassed reliability, the IPS125T uses wired Ethernet and standard TCP/IP communication. This can be easily bridged to 802.11 wireless or even 3G cell networks with external adapters. There are good reasons to use external bridges for wireless networking: Better antenna placement, up to 100m (328 feet) from the clock. Plus, bridges generally have good antennas, and allow replacement with directional antennas or even outdoor antennas. This provides better signal quality, better range, better reliability and more options. Wireless bridges are designed specifically for wireless connectivity and make configuring, testing and monitoring wireless communications easy. Standards proof. In recent years we've moved through 802.11b, 802.11a, 802.11g and 802.11n. WEP, WPA, WPA2, with TKIP and AES. Wireless technologies and security are changing quickly and evolving. A timeclock with today's technology will be obsolete next year. An external bridge makes it easy to change and upgrade your wireless connection to meet evolving needs. For the most secure environments, a VPN is often deployed over wireless. External bridges can handle this in a secure and reliable way. A bridge allows multiple devices to connect, including other IPS125T network clocks, computers, etc. In addition to supporting multiple service providers, similar advantages exist for using an external bridge for 3G network access. Designed, supported and made in the USA to the highest quality standards. Biometric Validation Biometric validation prevents employees from clocking in and out for each other, often called buddy punching. But, this isn't the only benefi of biometricst. In a labor dispute, you have good evidence that the employee worked the hours your records indicate. It's hard to allege a manager falsified times when the employee was validated with biometrics. Simple Configuration Installation of an IPS125T is very straightforward. Select a mounting site, connect network and power and attach to the wall. When the clock powers up, it automatically looks for an address via DHCP, or you can assign a static IP address. Using the LCD screen, select Search for Master to have the clock automatically configure itself. If the TimeIPS Server ( Master ) is on a remote network, just enter the IP address and let the clock do the rest.
TimeIPS IPS125T Network Clocks Clock Functions and Employee Interface Track Time Standard time tracking is easy. Employees simply enter their PIN or present their badge to clock in or out. TimeIPS smart clocking allows employees to present their badge and the clock automatically knows if they're clocking in or out. The clock then provides visual and audible confirmation. For example, the clock will say In and will display You have clocked IN. When employees forget to clock, they'll hear and see the opposite of what they expect, and can clock again so they're in the correct status. These double clocks are automatically flagged for correction by managers. Enter Notes Notes allow gathering additional details on every clock in, clock out or job change. Frequently used to track materials, equipment, customers or similar details. Track Jobs A job is a task or activity that an employee works on. Jobs can be selected by entering a job code or selecting from a list. Jobs can be configured to only be available for select employees to improve data input quality. Check Status Employees can view their in/out and job status at any time. In addition, hours worked and hours remaining for the week can be viewed. The display of hours worked and remaining can be enabled or disabled per employee. Enforce Schedules Early clock ins and minimum breaks can be enforced by the clock. Employees see helpful messages, such as You can't clock in until 8:00AM Request Benefits Employees can request benefits at the clock at any time. They just press Enter, then enter their badge and password (if configured). The date for use, the benefits type and the amount are selected from a list. Current available benefit hours can be seen as well. Track Work Orders A work order is a collection of jobs that need to be completed as a group. Work orders can be entered by number or selected from a list. Work orders can have budgeted time assigned to them. The reporting will clearly show if your work order is over or under budget. Simplified FLSA Compliance To pay employees correctly under FLSA, you need to know the entire time employees are on your premises. Walk up clocking with biometrics provides the best way to accurately know what to pay employees. Track Departments A department can be used as a task or activity that an employee works on. In this mode, departments can be selected by entering a code or selecting from a list. A department can also just be assigned to the clock, so all work at the clock is connected to the department. Accurate Time Gathering Walk up clocking provides the quickest and most accurate way to track employee time. When timeclocks are placed at the entrance and exit of your work areas it's easy and quick for employees to punch in and out. Offline mode stores punches and then processes them when the network connection is re established. Thousands of punches can be stored, so even if a remote site has the network or Internet down for days, employees can keep punching and keep working.
TimeIPS IPS125T Network Clocks Clocking Options Keypad The keypad is a standard option included with most IPS125T series clocks. It can be used to clock in/out with a PIN number, check status, enter numeric clock notes, provide job tracking numbers, and perform system maintenance and more. The TimeIPS external Keypad provides a number of key advantages over inexpensive built in rubber keypads: Has REAL keys that are easy and fast to press. External keypad can be mounted where it's easy to reach. This could be on the other side of a wall or glass door, next to equipment being operated, or where it's easy to reach while remaining in a vehicle. Multiple keypads can be connected. A second keypad could be positioned for a disabled employee, or on the other side of a wall or door when controlling access via relays. The keypad is durable and has a long life, but if it wears out, just unplug it and attach a new one. You can even replace it with (or add) a full size PC style keyboard. Employees can enter notes with full text details right at the clock. Biometric The IPS125T standard biometric device option is a high performance 500dpi optical fingerprint reader with a large 22mm x 18mm scan area. The optical biometric device is ideal for office environments. External hand punch readers are ideal when hands are frequently dirty, oily or wet. TimeIPS allows different biometric options per clock when multiple clocks are used. This means you can have fingerprint biometrics in one location and hand print biometrics in another. Magnetic Swipe Readers Speeds the clocking process as employees don't need to type in a PIN. Allows the use of encoded employee identification badges for clocking with the TimeIPS system. Reads TimeIPS employee identification badges or existing magnetic cards with encoding on tracks 1 and/or 2 Can be used in conjunction with biometrics. Employees swipe their card first, then present their finger or hand to validate. Proximity Readers Allows the use of proximity cards for employee identification with the TimeIPS system Increases security and speeds up the clocking process Can be used in combination with building security systems TimeIPS currently supports the following proximity formats: HID (standard and iclass) Indala (Motorola & Custom) Casi Rusco/EM Pyramid Keri 26bit ioprox AWID RFID Barcode Readers The IPS125T supports a variety of barcode readers including handheld, swipe badge, omni directional and wireless bluetooth readers. Ideal for reading employee badges and job tracking bar codes. Saves time while clocking and provides better management of jobs and work orders. Job and Work Order tracking requires a TimeIPS system with job and/or work order modules installed.
