ERC at events across the World January 2010: 97th Indian Science Congress May 2010: Scientific Council Member and Scientific Officer visited numerous Brazilian Universities (6 different locations) gave presentations on ERC s funding schemes. June 2010: World Expo in China, Shanghai: ERC Session and Press briefing during the EU Science and Technology Week at the EU/Belgian Pavilion + presentations to a large group of "Science and Technology Fellows" + visits to Tsinghua University and met with the China National Natural Science Foundation and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. August 2010, ERC representatives visit to Japan, Tokyo: visits to key institutes, the main funding agency, government agencies, and the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology (MEXT)+ presentations for researchers at Tokyo Institute of Technology (TITECH) and RIKEN + network event with EU Science Counsellors and CNRS/DFG officers based in Japan. October 2010: Press conference at the EU Pavilion, China, Shanghai: «Intelligent driverless vehicle reaches end goal in Shanghai after 13 000 km».
ERC at events in the US 14th MIT- European Career Fair, 29th Jan-1st Feb., Boston Presentation of the ERC Starting grants AAAS, 18-22 February, San Diego ERC Booth + ERC sponsored Workshop with Marie Curie and Euraxess Links US Post satellite visits to top Universities Society for Neuroscience Annual Conference ERC booth + Session with NIH, and NSF on «Funding Career transitions» + Presentations made to the European Network of Biotech researchers based on the West Coast+ network event organised by the Science Counsellor of the French Ambassy based in LA.
Specific ERC Events planned in the EU for 2011 2 ERC conferences including press briefings, in the MS holding the EU Presidencies (Hungary and Poland) 2 press conferences in Austria and Latvia Target national media, policy makers, MEPs and national/local authorities as well as scientific community to increase the ERC s visibility at national level.

New communication tools A new ERC website: more modern and dynamic, a clear organisation of the information by target groups: potential applicants, grantees, journalists, host institutions, NCPs etc A bi-monthly ERC newsletter More publications but as «i-paper»and specific products will be jointly produced with Euraxess, Marie Curie. A short leaflet will be translated in all EU languages. More videos to showcase and promote the ERC image in the world i.e. «Success stories»
