COMMUNITY GROUP INFORMATION Rehabilitation and Care Solutions provides a number of community groups and planned activities based on an individuals interests. The following pages list a range of the current community groups we offer, and we are always expanding. The Community Group programs provides shared care with experienced support staff. Funding requirements are identified on an individual basis. Some other associated costs not listed here may be transport and program fees. negotiated or required for participants to provide their own support staff; Rehabilitation Care Solutions will charge a $10.00 per hour administration fee. Cancellation policy There is a three week charge to participants and funding bodies for people wishing to cease activities or are not present at activities. After three weeks participants and support funding will not be charged. During the three weeks Community Group Co-ordinator will make contact and be advised of ongoing participation. Southern Go-Karting Come and enjoy the thrills of go-kart racing! Southern go-karting is a safe way for you to be able to test your driving skills with the support and facilities to do so. Two seater carts and drivers are available, along with second driver support for those with higher support needs. Enjoy a drive and then chat to the group over lunch! IT & Digital Storytelling Group Be creative and tell your life experience using technology! This program is all about enhancing your skills on the computer. Learn how to share your life experience and expressing your creativity in this digitally focused group. The program provides a fun and supportive environment to learn and create! Social Saturdays Fun in the city! There are so many things to see and do in the city of Melbourne. We would like to extend an invitation to you to join a group and explore the sights! This group is run once a fortnight on a Saturday. We will be travelling to the city by public transport together. Coffee Club Join us for a coffee and a fun afternoon of trivia! Our community team host some afternoon fun at a local cafe`. This is the perfect opportunity to have a great time, meet new people and compete in some friendly rounds of trivia. Feel like a coffee? Social Dinners Feel like a night out for dinner and good company? Join us for a monthly social dinner! We provide a monthly social dinner event where participants join us at a restaurant to enjoy a nice dinner and friendly interaction. Its a fun night out in a supportive environment. Southern Music Program Gold classics, live instruments and musical fun times. Rehabilitation and Care Solutions offers two group musical sessions. Hosted by a resident musician within the A&CS Studio, these sessions offer a great way to bring songs you love to life. Bring your favourite tracks! If you want to be creative and explore your musical talents, the music program is for you. The program offers all song types, all genres, and even the most popular gold classics! Cooking Group Get creative with cooking and enjoy some delicious flavours! Rehabilitation and Care Solutions have the pleasure of facilitating a therapy based cooking program. Overseen by an occupational therapist, participants learn new kitchen skills and enjoy the experience of cooking up a storm! Delicious! Participants have input with recipes for each week and adapted equipment is reviewed frequently to ensure maximum involvement. Fishing Program Are you interested in fishing? Rehabilitation and Care Solutions are commencing a fishing group alternating between the Frankston and Mordialloc piers! Guided by our resident fisherman who has the knowledge and experience to assist you as needed. The group is every Thursday alternating between locations. With our very own art gallery and workshop, this therapy based program provides an opportunity for artists to create some of the most unique paintings, sculptures, mosaics and artworks. HOLIDAYS Plan a trip away with us with the support and care you need. Rehabilitation and Care Solutions presents a variety of fun and exciting shared care holidays. Destinations, activities and support are tailored to meet the needs of each group and individual members. We ensure that each participant is actively engaged and well supported in activities throughout the holiday. All aspects of planning are covered including transport, accommodation, meals, care and activities. Group holidays provide the opportunity for people to have a break from their usual routine and have fun. It s a great opportunity for participants to socialise and to build friendships, while also offering respite for carers. We are not limited to destinations listed and are happy to receive suggestions or requests for holidays. Support is assessed by a person s care team and can by 1:1, 1:2 or 1:3.

Parkes Elvis Festival Celebrate the music of Elvis! The Parkes Elvis Festival is an annual event celebrating the legend of Elvis Presley. Join Rehabilitation and Care Solutions as we explore the life and music of Elvis, and have some great fun along the way!
