ESCA Traiig Programme 2014-2015 Welcome to the NEW 2014-2015 Essex Social Care Academy Traiig Programme, this programme is available to social care staff, Foster Carers' ad professioals from other agecies. The Essex Social Care Academy s visio is to provide a framework which promotes ad eables a professioal learig culture, improvig professioal excellece ad drivig up stadards to deliver high quality practice. I order to achieve this we are cotiually improvig the stadard of our traiig programme. Eablig the workforce to have a clear uderstadig of what is available for persoal ad professioal developmet. We have worked hard to esure our traiig programme is clearly mapped agaist other Cotiuig Professioal Developmet activities ad as such are workig o likig all our courses to the Professioal Capabilities Framework ad implemetig our developig CPD strategy. The schedule, which is to be used i cojuctio with this brochure, provides a list of all the courses curretly beig offered i the ESCA Traiig Programme ad the dates they are available throughout the year. We have a joied-up approach to traiig with our colleagues i Adults Commissioig. This meas that all class room based, exterally procured programmes are doe so via the Essex Brokerage. The Essex Brokerage method esures that the quality of traiig is drive towards improvig stadards, ad that traiers are accoutable for what they deliver to you based o learig outcomes ad impact of traiig delivered. We are also cotiuig to develop a secod, bleded learig offerig. This is a pick ad mix of differet learig itervetios. Essex Social Care Academy Quality Assurace Framework 2014-15 Backgroud The quality assurace framework has bee put i place by ESCA to moitor the quality of the traiig evets delivered as part of cotracts agreed betwee ESCA/Essex Brokerage ad providers of services delivered from September 2013 owards. The framework is ow fully embedded ad will cotiue idefiitely, or util further review. The framework was rolled out across the ESCA traiig programmes ad evets for Family Operatios from 1st September 2013, ad will be rolled out across the Fosterig, Residetial traiig programme ad the Workig Together traiig programme from April 2014. The Approach There are three steps to our framework which are as follows: Observatio Evaluatio Surveys Impact Assessmet Surveys Observatio ESCA Team members will observe courses across the programme or alteratively request feedback from delegates via a phoe call which takes place followig their attedace at the traiig evet. If you have bee chose to become a mystery shopper for oe of our courses we will call you up a day prior to the course for your agreemet. Evaluatio Forms At the ed of the traiig evet traiers will had out a evaluatio forms to delegates to complete. Impact Assessmet Surveys Delegates are required, four weeks after attedace at a traiig evet, to complete a impact assessmet survey which assesses the impact that the traiig evet has had o their practice ad the outcomes for their cliets. Delegates will be required to complete the survey withi a two week timeframe. Certificates will oly be issued upo completio. 4

Masters Level Post Qualifyig Traiig Followig o from the recommedatios of the Social Work Reform Board ad the disbadig of the GSCC, the Social Work Post Qualifyig Framework has bee replaced with Cotiuous Professioal Developmet based o modular masters level academic programmes. These programmes replace all previous qualificatios such as PQ1, Cosolidatio, Specialist Award, Higher Specialist Award etc. The curret modular approach allows social workers to udertake post qualifyig traiig at a pace which is more maageable alogside practice. We are curretly workig with a umber of Higher Educatio Istitutios to develop the rage of programmes available but our mai parters at preset are Uiversity of Bedfordshire, Ket ad The Uiversity of East Aglia with a rage of practice based modules ad practice educatio programmes The Practice Educatio Programme is accessed via maager omiatio oce a year aroud July. The remaiig modules are advertised service wide o a module by module basis. Each of the UEA modules is 20 Masters level credits ad ru for six moths. The Ket Assessmet module is 20 credits ad rus for 10 weeks. Bedfordshire modules are 15 credits. Credits obtaied through these programmes ca be used to work towards a rage of academic qualificatios. These are Post Graduate Certificate (60 credits) Post Graduate Diploma (120 credits) ad Masters (180 credits). I geeral credits ca be used for up to five years to achieve oe of these awards ad credits ca be trasferred betwee differet HEI s.
