My Career Interest Results I have an aptitude for writing. I am also talented when it comes to art and design. My career interests lie in investigative, artistic, and social areas. I scored highest for the Education and Training, Hospitality and Tourism, and Human Services career clusters. My results do not come as a surprise to me. The career clusters match with my aptitudes and career interests.

Secondary Teacher This career falls into the Education and Training Career Cluster. Career Description: Sixth through the twelfth grade is considered secondary. It is an educators job to convey curriculum content to students. Teachers are responsible for gauging each students understanding of the course standards through various forms of assessment. Career Tasks: Teachers typically have a long to-do list. They write lessons, make copies, collaborate with coworkers, and contact parents. Teachers also prepare students for and give standardized tests.

Secondary Teacher Skill Requirements: Teachers must have reading, writing, math, and technology skills as well as content knowledge. Patience is a teacher s best tool. Education Requirements: A bachelor s degree is required to be an educator as well as a state certification or license. Further degrees will be necessary for advancement or salary increase. Salary: The average pay for a teacher is around $50,000. However, entry level pay is closer to $35,000. This is before taxes and insurance and varies depending on location.

Dietician or Nutritionist This career falls into the Hospitality and Tourism Career Cluster. Career Description: Depending on where the nutritionist works he or she may meet with individuals or groups to counsel clients on healthy eating habits. It is a dieticians job to determine the nutritional requirements of others based on a variety of factors including: lifestyle, ailments, etc. Career Tasks: Planning meals, conducting research, and evaluating client diets are common tasks. Dieticians must keep up with the latest research and health safety codes. Dieticians must also be organized, communicate well with others, and write reports.

Dietician or Nutritionist Skill Requirements: Dieticians must have reading and writing skills. Knowledge of chemistry and psychology is also important. Ability to educate others is important. Education Requirements: A bachelor s degree is required to be a dietician. To be a Registered Dietician (RD) you must have a state license. A master s degree is also desirable. Salary: The average pay for a nutritionist is around $55,000. However, entry level pay is closer to $34,000. This is before taxes and insurance.

Museum Curator This career falls into the Education and Training Career Cluster. Career Description: Curators typically manage the collections of museums, historical sites, etc. They are also responsible for research and conservation conducted by his or her employer. Public services, such as visits and classes, will also likely be a curator s responsibility. Career Tasks: Curators will be responsible for acquiring, preserving, storing, and exhibiting collections. Grant writing, planning, organizing, and promoting will also be typical of this position.

Museum Curator Skill Requirements: Curators must have reading, writing, and speaking skills. They must have an aptitude for history and education. Customer service experience would be excellent. Education Requirements: A master s degree is required to be a curator. The type of degree depends on the collection type. A degree in museum studies of a PhD would be preferred. Salary: The average pay for a curator is around $45,000. However, entry level pay is closer to $28,000. This is before taxes and insurance.
