TEA do not endorse any of these curriculum tools and resources. AchieveTexas and Texas Business and Education Coalition Education and Career Planning: A comprehensive education and career planning tool and resources to help address the needs of Texas students. America's Career InfoNet: Using Internet career information resources like America s Career InfoNet, students can take greater responsibility for their own career research and planning. Bridges: Bridges provides software- based and online education planning, career exploration, and high school/college test prep resources. A B C Career Cruising: Made up of a collection of online career guidance and planning tools, Career Cruising helps students find the right career by giving them a chance to explore education and training options, as well as build a portfolio. CareerOneStop: CareerOneStop is a U.S. Department of Labor- sponsored website that offers career resources and workforce information to job seekers, students, businesses, and workforce professionals to foster talent development in a global economy. COIN: Created by educators for educators, COIN s Career Targets Online is a web- based application that gives students step- by- step instructions on career planning and is designed to help them learn more about their career interests. 1
2 COIN CD- ROM: This website provides a comprehensive career and college guidance and planning system. College Board: The College Board is a not- for- profit membership association whose mission is to connect students to college success and opportunity. College.gov: College.gov is administered by the U.S. Department of Education in collaboration with students. This site is intended to be the go- to source for information and resources about planning, preparing and paying for postsecondary education (such as 2- or 4- year colleges and universities, as well as vocational or career schools). ConnectEdu.net: ConnectEDU offers web- based products, services and solutions designed to streamline the high school to college to career process. The TEA launched a pilot program in April 2010 in partnership with ConnectEDU that will help high school students manage the complex college selection and application process. Education and Career Opportunities Systems (ECOS): This is an online tool for career exploration resources and more for students and schools. E Entrepreneurship Competency Model: In collaboration with the Consortium for Entrepreneurship Education (CEE), the Employment and Training Administration (ETA) has worked with education, business, and industry leaders to develop a comprehensive competency model for entrepreneurship as it relates to all careers areas. The model is designed to be adaptable along with changing skill requirements. CEE has committed to working with entrepreneurship leaders and partners to keep the model current. G GEAR UP Texas: Multimedia toolkits on a wide array of college access and readiness topics. This vast library of videos and print materials has been updated and cataloged for this web site. Now you can stream or download individual videos or print pieces as well as entire toolkits free of charge. 2

New Jersey Business and Industry Association (NJBIA): This website provides information, services and advocacy for its member companies in order to build a more prosperous New Jersey. For the New Jersey Policy Research Organization s Small Business Curriculum, Teaching Tomorrow s Entrepreneurs Today, please visit This program is designed to promote business and entrepreneurial literacy among middle school grade students by providing them with real- world examples from the workplace and our free- market system.
