5 Going Green with Certificates Target Date: January 1, TEA will no longer mail printed certificates. A printer-friendly copy of the certificate will be accessible through the educator s online account. This version of the certificate will be created to provide the educator with a document suitable for framing. The representation of a person s certificate status as maintained on the agency s website is considered to be the official record of educator certification. 5

9 19 TAC Policy Change June Year Probationary Certificate for Traditional Undergraduate Candidates Candidate must have completed all required course work, including the Student Teaching experience Candidate must have passed content exams or, at the secondary level, have 24/12 credit hours in the content area Candidate is lacking appropriate exam(s) EPP recommends 9

17 Additional Certification by Exam To qualify, you must adhere to the following: Hold a valid Texas classroom certificate Hold a bachelor s degree Pass content exam(s) for another classroom area no additional PPR required Apply online and pay $77 to add the new certificate at 17

18 19 TAC Certification by Exam for Marketing Education 8-12 (Effective October 28, 2010 Pertains only to certified educators with bachelor s degrees) Passing score on TExES #175 Marketing Education 8-12 Two years of full-time wage-earning experience in a marketing occupation (SOQ required) Approval of SOQ Educator Preparation Program School District (Only for Marketing) 18
