NPDES Industrial Stormwater Inspection Worksheet Recommendations It was discussed that Riverbend can either direct their contaminated stormwater to the stormwater outfalls or to the Leachate Pond. Riverbend Landfill has chosen to direct all contaminated stormwater to their Leachate Pond and dispose of leachate/contaminated stormwater at a POTW, where they have permits in place for disposal. The 1200-Z permit does allow for the discharge of contaminated stormwater. If Riverbend Landfill chooses to discharge contaminated stormwater then the sample results would be compared to the effluent limits. These limits were discussed during this inspection and an updated monitoring table was given to Riverbend Landfill to confirm this discussion. Violations/Non-Compliance No violations noted. Corrective Actions and/or SWPCP Modification Riverbend Landfill will need to update their SWPCP to include the following items: Residential waste and recycling drop off area Outfall associated with new area, Outfall 1b Settling pond constructed at the entrance Detention pond/bioswale located near Outfall 2 Where the active face of the landfill is located Landfill haul road Illustration on the Site Plan of how contaminated stormwater is being managed Description in the text of the SWPCP of how contaminated stormwater is being managed Before construction begins on the proposed new cell, Riverbend Landfill will need to apply for a 1200-C permit for the construction activities related to construction of the cell. NPDES Industrial Stormwater Inspection Worksheet documents the site at the time of the inspection and does not guarantee permit compliance. Observation, notes and photographs document the site at one specific time and may be referred to in the future on an as needed basis. The Inspection Worksheet will be place in the facility s DEQ file and become part of the public record. Page 2 of 8
