Overview of Custom HTML Upload The functionality of Custom HTML Upload allows Business Users to upload their own html for their promotion/newsletter emails, completely replacing the template provided by Demandforce D3. The customized html file can be built in any format by the business users in accordance with the following instructions. Email HTML Specifications To write the correct email html file, you need to follow the Demandforce D3 design specifications that prescribe the html file size limit and the custom tags usage. In this section, the correct format and specifications will be listed to ensure that your custom html renders properly. Size Specifications Size of the HTML File According to the size limit of the campaign emails, the HTML file you are going to upload into the business portal should not exceed 100 KB. If the file s size is larger than the limit, it won t be able to upload successfully onto the business portal. Dimensions of the Content HTML Template The width of your entire HTML email should be slightly less than or equal to 580px. Custom Tags Within the content of your promotions/newsletters, you have the option to display business information pulled from Demandforce D3 or action buttons such as Request Appointment. This is similar to the concept of mail merge in other major email marketing services. You may do so by inserting what we call Custom Tags into your HTML. Custom Tags will be rendered dynamically by the Demandforce D3 system when your promotions/newsletters are generated. Definitions of Custom Tags All Custom Tags are comprised by words and square brackets in the format: [Content]. These Custom Tags will simplify your work while writing your own content html. The Demandforce D3 system will replace the Custom Tags accordingly. Customer Names 1) [CustomerFirstName] First name of your customer. 2) [CustomerLastName] Last name of your customer. Business User Information 1) [BusinessName] Your business name. 2) [BusinessEmail] Your business email. Note this tag simply provides the email address only. You will have to add <a href></a> around it to make it a hyperlink. 3) [BusinessAddress] Your business address. 4) [BusinessPhone] Your business phone. 5) [BusinessWebsite] Your business website. Note this tag simply provides the URL only. You will have to add <a href></a> around it to make it a hyperlink. 6) [BusinessProfile] URL of your Demandforce Business Profile. Note this tag simply provides the URL only. You will have to add <a href></a> around it to make it a hyperlink. If your customers click this graphic, they will be taken to your Facebook Page if entered in your Demandforce D3 portal. 4) [TwitterFollow] Follow us on Twitter graphic. If your customers click this graphic, they will be taken to your Twitter Page if entered in your Demandforce D3 portal. 5) [ReviewBusinessYelp] Help with Yelp graphic. If your customers click this graphic, they will be taken to your Yelp Page if entered in your Demandforce D3 portal. 6) [ReviewBusinessGoogle] Review us on Google Places graphic. If your customers click this graphic, they will be taken to your Google Places Page if entered in your Demandforce D3 portal. 7) [ReviewBusinessYahoo] Review us on Yahoo! graphic. This button will take customers to your Business Profile Reviews tab where they can write a review for your Business. 10) [ReferFriend] Refer a Friend button. This button will take customers to your Business Profile where they can refer friends and family to your Business. Custom Tags Usage After you understand what these Custom Tags mean, you will learn how to embed these tags in your html file. In fact, implementing the Custom Tags in your own html file is quite simple. You can choose any Custom Tags you want to use and put them directly in your html source code. Make sure these tags are located in the correct place you want to display in your email. Additionally, these chosen tags can be easily adjusted to any places of your html. The following sample codes assume that you are going to put your customer s First Name, a Request Appointment Button and your business information in the content area of your campaign email: Here will be replaced to your customer s first name Here will be interpreted to a request button Here will be substituted by your business information While the html is generating the campaign email by the Demandforce D3 system, the Custom Tags will be interpreted to the relevant content: 22 Fourth Street, 12th Floor San Francisco, CA 94103 (800) 246-985 6

Email Navigation Bar Studies have shown that email navigation bar plays a big role in generating click through. Email navigation bar can appear either at the top or at the bottom of an email. Below is an example: If you are considering adding a navigation bar to your email, we have prepared the following four actions for you. They come in the form of tags, which will get dynamically rendered as URLs when the system processes the html. To use these, simply add them in the <a href> tag for your navigation item.
