3 Virto Resource Utilization Web Part for Microsoft SharePoint Overview Virto Project Management is a ready-to-use template for managing SharePoint projects of different types. The solution is intended for organizations of various types that plan to implement project management based on SharePoint portal. 4 Installation and Activation This section describes how to install, upgrade, uninstall, or contact Support for the Virto Project Management Template. Installing Virto Project Management Template Before you begin, you need to make sure you have access to the server and your account must have the appropriate administrative privileges to install applications. Virto Project Management Template for SharePoint setup program provides links to various installation components. To access Setup program download Virto.ProjectManagement.2010.zip file and unzip it. Run extracted Setup.exe file. Note: Virto Project management is compatible only with SharePoint 2010 version. The setup wizard window will appear. Virto Project Management wizard performs a system check prior to the installation. All the system checks must be completed successfully in order to proceed with the installation. After the checks have completed, click Next. Check I accept the terms in the License Agreement and click Next.
5 Select the web application(s) where you want to install the product. Warning: You must be logged in to the SharePoint server with a Site Collection Administrator account to automatically activate this feature. Then click Next.
6 Click Close to complete the installation.
7 License Activation To see full instruction for successful activation of your component, please download Virto License Manager PDF instruction from Downloads section of our site or read it in Wiki. Upgrading Virto Project Management If you already use Virto Project Management and need to upgrade it to the latest version, download the.zip file from http://www.virtosoftware.com. Unzip the file and run setup.exe as it is described in the Installing Virto Project Management Template section. On the step 3 check the box Upgrade and click Next. Note: if you had activated the license while installing the previous Virto Resource Utilization Web Part version, you do not need to activate it now. Uninstalling Virto Project Management Template To uninstall the component: 1. Double click the Setup.exe extracted from downloaded Virto.ProjectManagement.2010.zip file. 2. The program performs the system checks again. Once that has successfully completed, the program prompts you to Repair or Remove the solution. Select Remove, and click Next. Adding Project Management Template to SharePoint Site When Virto Project Management Adjustment is installed and activated, you can start template adjustment on your SharePoint site. Virto Project Management template will help you to combine required project management tools in a single template that can be applied for a SharePoint site. When you create a new SharePoint site, you can select Virto Project Management Template.
8 When Virto Project Management Template was used for site adding, users will be able to view Project Management site pages with blocks of special project management tools designed by Virtosoftware.
9 Resource User View Virto Project Management site can be visited by a Project Manager or Resource User. Depending on role, Project Management blocks are available to view on the page. The following blocks of Virto Project Management are available for Resource User: Dashboard; Personal Space; Reports; Calendar; Alerts. Items from Project Management block are not available for Resource User. Only Project Manager has access to them. To learn which pages Project Management block contains, see the section Project Management. Dashboard Dashboard is the first block Resource User sees when he goes to Virto Project Management site. This page contains overview information about planned tasks and events shown in the mini-calendar, chart and task list and displays announcements.
10 Project Calendar block is adjusted with help of built-in Virto Ajax Mini Calendar Web Part for MS SharePoint. Please see the adjust instructions in Virto Ajax Mini Calendar Web Part Installation and User Guide. Announcements block is adjusted with help of built-in Virto Social Aggregator for MS SharePoint. Please see the adjust instructions in Virto Social Aggregator for Microsoft SharePoint Installation and User Guide. Personal Space Personal Space block contains My Work, My Active Tasks, My Overdue Tasks, My Tasks pages. My Work page contains Mini Calendar with events planned for the current month and Virto Calendar block with planned tasks and events.
11 Mini Calendar allows viewing events planned for the month and navigate to them in Virto Calendar. Mini Calendar block is adjusted with help of built-in Virto Ajax Mini Calendar Web Part for MS SharePoint. Please see the adjust instructions in Virto Ajax Mini Calendar Web Part Installation and User Guide. My Active Tasks page shows the list of active tasks available for Resource User (tasks he has to complete). With help of this view users can see what tasks they are working on, sort them by status or priority and etc. and get the whole picture of things to do.
12 My Overdue Tasks block shows which tasks are overdue and need to be done at first. My Tasks block displays the list of all tasks a current user participates in.
13 My Active Tasks, My Overdue Tasks, My Tasks pages allows adding new tasks and view each task given to this Resource User. Reports Reports block contains statistic information about the project, its tasks, resources and other factors displayed in Virto pie charts. Progress Report block helps to visualize information and see how many tasks are in each status and get the whole picture of project progress. Resource Summary block enables to see how many tasks on different stages each Resource User has.
14 Here you can see the progress information for all users in the project. Budget Summary report includes summary information about project finances, allows comparing actual and fact financial data. Reports block is adjusted with help of built-in Virto jquery Charts for MS SharePoint. Please see the adjust instructions in Virto JQuery Charts for Microsoft SharePoint Installation and User Guide. Alerts Alerts block contains alert subscriptions added to the project (alerts and reminders concerning events).

Project Gantt displays Gantt chart view of tasks and helps to see full scheme of project, relations between tasks and order of working on them.
Project Gantt block is adjusted with help of Virto Gantt Web Part for MS SharePoint. Please see the adjust instructions in Virto Gantt Web Part for Microsoft SharePoint Installation and User Guide. 17 Project Resources block contains information about resource utilization and allows project manager to see who is working on tasks and see if some tasks need to be reassigned. Project Resources block is adjusted with help of built-in Virto Resource Utilization Web Part for MS SharePoint. Please see the adjust instructions in Virto Resource Utilization Web Part for Microsoft SharePoint Installation and User Guide. Unassigned Items displays the list of tasks that need to be assigned. Here project manager can go to unassigned tasks and assign them to project resources in edit mode.
18 Overdue Items block contains the list of overdue tasks; from here project manager can go to overdue items and reassign them or make corrections to deadline. When a project manager goes to item view mode, he can see General Virto and Finance blocks, resource user can view only General Virto block.
Finances tab contains information about planned and actual cost and work. This data can be edited in edit form. 19 Note: edit/view forms of items can be adjusted by site administrator with help of built-in Virto List Form Extender.
