PIEDMONT MARCHESI DI BAROLO Marchesi di Barolo historical cellars are located in the town of Barolo, in the building overlooking the Castle of the Marquis Falletti. The story begins with Pietro Emilio Abbona who after having introduced the wine from Barolo to the most important world wide expositions of the late 1800 s and early 1900 s, with the help of his sisters Marina and Celestina, continued for the rest of the century to build up the winery presenting it to the world markets and therefore contributing to make Barolo wine and its town the legend it is now, dear to all gourmets and lovers of quality. Today Marchesi di Barolo is headed by Anna and Ernesto Abbona the 5th generationon. PIEDMONT Marco Bonfante MARCO BONFANTE Marco Bonfante winery was born from Marco s and Micaela s brother and sister - passion for wine, continuing the tradition of the Bonfante family, which has been producing wines in Piedmont for 8 generations. Micaela looks after the administrative side while Marco, with his diploma from the Oenology and Viticulture school of Alba, is in charge of production and marketing. For us, Piedmont is a land of great wines, with centuries-old wine and gastronomic tradition. PIEDMONT BOSIO It was 1967 when the Bosio family, Egidio and Angela decided to start a work and a life full of fatigue and satisfactions; like every good farmer Egidio started step by step, with humility and tenacity, not pretending to reach success immediately and knowing that working hard and paying attention to the quality of the products would have given him results.now, in the XXIth Century, the company includes 60 acres of vineyards, divided in the typical cultures of the zone. The plots of land are mainly in S. Stefano Belbo but also in Castiglione Tinella, Mango, Costigliole d Asti and Castagnole Lanze. LOMBARDY CÀ MAIOL From the ancient Provencal origins of the Contato family, on a strip of land in the Garda Lake area, the Cà Maiol winery was created. Founded in 1967 by their father Walter, today the company continues its noble traditions through the commitment and the dedication of Fabio and Patrizia Contato. And thanks to this enthusiasm, the winery has increased from the original 12 hectares in the heart of the production area of Lugana wine, to the current 140, extending throughout a rich and fertile terrain. LOMBARDY RIVETTI & LAURO Rivetti & Lauro comes out of an ambitious idea. The vineyards of Valtellina has centuries of history and tradition. They are the largest terraced wine-growing area in the Italian mountains. This is where the Nebbiolo is produced, a great vine for a wine of noble and extraordinary quality. ALTO ADIGE MURI-GRIES The year 1845 sees the birth of Muri-Gries. Benedictine monks were forced to leave their monastery, founded in 1027 in Muri in the Swiss canton of Aargau, and moved to the now-dissolved Augustinian convent of canons in Gries. In 1968 the monastery cellar experienced a dramatic change: for the first time, its own wines were bottled in great style in the winery itself. A consistent quality approach was increasingly evident. In 1985 Lagrein gained first place in the monastery cellar s wine hierarchy and began to show its true profile. Muri-Gries recognises the value of the olds, indigenous and often neglected grape varieties. An awareness of one s own traditions has been revived. FRIULI VENEZIA GIULIA CONTI FORMENTINI The historic house of Conti Formentini sits between the Isonzo and Judrio rivers on the Slovenian border. For almost five centuries, this estate has played a role in the Friuli wine-producing tradition and has dominated the territory of Collio. The Conti Formentini estate sits among the vineyards that surround the castle like a polished, well-tended jewel. The care and attention lavished on this estate have not changed over the centuries and today it employs the most up-to-date vinification techniques. The magnificent San Floriano Castle has for years been the symbol both of the estate and of a prestigious brand that denotes elegant wines for the demanding consumer. The terrains in this zone consist of marl and sandstone and enjoy a cool, airy climate that brings out the aromatic richness of the grapes to produce wines of extraordinary personality. VENETO SAN VENANZIO It is a place we hold dear, it is so close to our hearts, but also to the heart of the area of the Prosecco Superiore D.o.c.g. of Valdobbiadene. The Terre di San Venanzio cellar originates, in fact, nearby the most prestigious and renowned cru of Cartizze. Here we receive and work selected grapes, harvested solely in the vineyards of Valdobbiadene, to obtain a limited production of Prosecco Superiore D.o.c.g. sparkling wine. The foundations of our company philosophy lie here, alongside care and attention to working detail, respect to the traditional practices of knowledge, the application of the avant-garde technical equipment and in search of the least invasive techniques possible. This is the long road on which we strive for quality. But the Terre di San Venanzio cellar also wishes to be a place open to visitors and guests, with its tasting rooms, the possibility to visit the winemaking premises, areas dedicated to welcome and reception. And for there is a special project for the future, a surprise for all those who appreciate wonderful wine and the wine culture. SAN VENANZIO LAMBERTI It is said that the founder of the winery was born in the Lake Garda area and that he used to go as far as Verona on his inseparable Vespa to settle his business, making a personal visit to his customers and taking them some bottles of new wine to taste. Today, we still continue the journey that our founder began, taking our excellent wines to the tables of all Italians. For over 50 years, the wines have expressed the beautiful features of Lake Garda, where the best Bardolino Classico wine is produced. The first premises, built in 1964, were situated opposite the castle walls of Lazise. TUSCANY AND UMBRIA PAKRAVAN PAPI Azienda Agricola Pakravan-Papi is located on the site of an old farm west of Riparbella. It was a challenge for Amineh Pakravan and Enzo Papi to recover the original vocation of this territory and revive it with the help of new technologies, while fully respecting tradition. The pre-conditions for the cultivation of grapes were there: the micro-climate dominated by the sunshine and the breeze from the Mediterranean, variegated and complex soils with a wealth of minerals, gentle and well exposed slopes. Implanting Bordeaux varieties soon appeared a crucial choice, confirmed by their success in nearby Bolgheri. Cabernet and Merlot clones were embedded on south-facing plots, with soils formed by the gradual disintegration of igneous rock of high mineral content, allowing for limited yields. The result confers a structure and aroma to the wines that are typically Mediterranean and quite distinct from their Bolgheri siblings. TENUTA L IMPOSTINO Montecucco is one of the most suggestive area of Tuscany, with a land extremely voted to the production of great wines and characterized by extraordinary naturalistic landscapes made of gentle slopes, rivers, chestnut trees, beech woods, besides ancient and precious historical villages, rich of old walls and towers. The company is located in the offshoots of the Maremma, on the border with the Siena province, in the area of the DOC Montecucco, between the Docg Brunello of Montalcino and the Docg Morellino of Scansano and it is granted with the privilege of ideal conditions for the growth and maturation of the Sangiovese. TUSCANY AND UMBRIA MACHIAVELLI The historic Fattoria Machiavelli represents the oldest Chianti tradition. The estate is located at Sant Andrea in Percussina, in San Casciano Val di Pesa in the province of Florence. Built 500 years ago, the cellar lies beneath the house where Machiavelli lived during his long exile from Florence. In 1512 and from 1513 onwards, Niccolò Machiavelli was confined to the Albergaccio, which adjoins the cellar. Here he pursued his writing, tended his fields and passed his spare time in the famous Hosteria. Machiavelli ran his vineyards and his farms well, taking a personal interest in their management. Machiavelli is the prestigious Tuscan brand. It is reserved exclusively for the traditional channel that offers the expert consumer a selection of Tuscan wines of the highest quality and identity, produced in limited quantities from the estate s own vineyards. MACHIAVELLI TENUTE AMBROGIO E GIOVANNI FOLONARI Folonari is a name closely connected with wine. The Folonari family has been active in wine for almost two centuries now ever since the company was founded back in 1825 under the name of Fratelli Folonari, Folonari brothers. CONTI SERRISTORI BIGI Bigi has had enormous success and for years has been the most important and prestigious name associated with Orvieto Classico. MARCHE LAZIO VALLEROSA BONCI Cupramontana is the ancient and noble homeland of Verdicchio. It is also the site where four generations ago the Bonci family started their production and sale of wines. It all began with Domenico Bonci, in the first few years of the last century. As well as developing his own production through an accurate selection of producers and associated products carried out employing the wisdom of a true connoisseur, his vision also extended to reserving the best batches for the many transalpine visitors who displayed an interest in these fruits of the earth processed by such fine craftsmanship. PRINCIPE PALLAVICINI The Pallavicini family has been present in the Latium territory since the second part of the 1600 s and weaves its own history with that of the region in the most diverse purviews, amongst which the running of agricultural properties and the winery near Rome. VALLEROSA BONCI The particular commitment to viticulture has taken on a new lease of life thanks to Maria Camilla Pallavicini, determined to follow a project very dear to her: to contribute to enhancing Latium wine-making, especially that of Frascati, involving her family domain as the natural scene for this scope. ABRUZZO AGRIVERDE Agriverde wines divulge the culture of terroir, the land from which the grapes are grown imparts a unique quality that is specific to that region, melting the concepts of Climate, Geology, Topography, and Soil. The recovery and use of natural yeasts, which goes away from the standards of aromatic yeasts, gives their wines a taste intimately tied to the territory, restoring the centrality of the natural element and the features belonging to the terroir Agriverde is certified by I.C.E.A. ABRUZZO CASAL THAULERO The name of this prestigious winery dates back to the sixteenth century and comes from a noble family, the Thaulero s, living in the heart of Italy: the Abruzzo region. Furthermore the small area where the family was located, as time went by, took the name of Casal Thaulero in honor of this meritorious family history. At the end of 1800, Duke Giovanni Thaulero began a recovery work of his proprieties, planting vines and building a large cutting edge winery. He is considered one of Abruzzo oenology precursor, thanks to his strong willing for experimentation: a true precursor of viticulture. This ancient winemaking tradition was then in 1961 taken over by local winegrowers to let this honorable history live until nowadays. BASILICATA CALABRIA RE MANFREDI Terre degli Svevi is a young estate founded in 1998 when the Gruppo Italiano Vini, acquired it from a noble family that owned terrains and property at Venosa. The zone of Vulture is ideally suited to the production of major wines, notably Aglianico, a vigorous wine that rivals the legendary Italian Amarone or Barolo for structure, body and complexity. Aglianico is the most widespread variety in Basilicata. It has ancient origins and was cultivated by the Romans. APULIA MASCA DEL TACCO Thus was born the Masca del Tacco winery love history values and innovation The winery masca del Tacco was founded by Armando and Felice Merge and is located in Erchie in the northern part of Salento peninsula. The winery includes 50 hectars of land cultivated with method of alberello and spalliera, and the grapes are still hand picked. CASTELLO MONACI The contours of Castello Monaci blend into the lines of its native land. Salento lies between two seas, a territory of distinctive shapes and myriad of forms representing nature. MASCA DEL TACCO Fanning out around the castle and cellar, Castello Monaci s 150 hectares of vineyards are planted mainly to indigenous varieties primitivo, negroamaro and malvasia nera. The estate is at the forefront of sophisticated innovation and technology and has a barrique cellar carved out of solid rock that provides natural temperature insulation. SICILY FAZIO The history of Fazio company tells about a family that since four generations plays with passion and dedication the art of viticulture and winemaking. Girolamo and Vincenzo Fazio are the authors of the conversion of the family properties in a modern and efficient winery located in the town of Erice in the northwestern area of the province of Trapani. The Fazio Family has been active and determinant to obtain the recognition of the Doc Erice that strengthen the link between production and a land of unique geological and climatic features. TENUTA RAPITALÀ The name Rapitalà derives from Arabic (Rabidh-Allah, meaning river of Allah, the stream that runs through the vineyards) and bears witness to the fact that these lands have been cultivated since ancient times. Over the course of the centuries, generations of farmers have shaped the form and identity of the estate as it stands today. The Tenuta Rapitalà covers 225 hectares in the territory that descends from Camporeale towards Alcamo across gentle slopes at an altitude of 300 to 600 metres where the earth mixes sand and clay. SARDINIA CANTINA OLIENA Cantina Oliena was formed in 1950 by a group of local growers in order to enhance and promote the wine Cannonau. The vine, imported from Spain and presents also in other areas of Sardinia, has found here the ideal conditions of settlement thanks to the dry climate and the sandy soil. The cultivation at alberello or spalliera methods, does not allow high yields but allows the production of a wine with unique characteristics. Cannonau DOC produced in the territory of Oliena, since 1972, takes the sub-denomination of Nepente of Oliena. Cantina Oliena combining traditional methods with advanced technologies, such as temperature-controlled fermentation, works grapes conferred by about 100 members. CANTINA TANI CANTINA OLIENA "Transmitting the love for our land in everything we do" In 1980 the brothers Franco and Tonino Tani and his wife Federica, bought their first land and implanted the first vineyard of Vermentino grape and that's when everything starts taking shape, our desire to live, to learn, and enjoy "our land" of Gallura, a land still wild, where nature still reign, but it knows how to be generous and how to make you fall in love with it, as it happened to the second generation of the family, whom are now actively involved in the project of their life. TANI...is the brand (name) registered company and is also the surname of the same family that wanted it to be maintained in the logo, while the brand was created recalling two ideas: the symbol of Sagittarius (zodiacal sign of family members Tani) and the archer of the known Sardinian bronzes. SARDINIA CANTINA DI MOGORO The winery was founded in 1956 by a small group of winemakers, driven by the great respect for the vines and the quality of the local Sardinian grapes. The Cantina di Mogoro takes the name from the homonymous village, placed in the Marmilla area, famous for its agricultural traditions and also known for weaving of fine tapestries and carpets, as well as a fine tradition in wooden handicraft.
