Professional Development for Educators Assessment Technology Incorporated (ATI) has developed a menu of professional development tools for the Galileo user. The main objective of these tools is to provide educators a variety of professional development and support opportunities to help them incorporate and successfully use the Galileo system for the Electronic Management of Learning (EML). FUNDAMENTALS: Fundamentals of Galileo, Fundamentals of Merlin, and Fundamentals of Curriculum provide new users, future trainers, and administrators with the background needed to implement Galileo technology. Each course can be delivered on-site or online. Large or small programs can take advantage of ATI s top quality instructional programs. Programs can choose to provide training for one or 100. MASTERY: The Mastery of Galileo course empowers supervisors, administrators, and trainers with expertise to lead their program in the Electronic Management of Learning. This online course is available for College Credit and is designed for the advanced user desiring more detailed instruction on specific topics related to Galileo and EML. Optional college credit is included as part of the course fee. ABOUT OUR STAFF ATI s professional development staff come to you direct from the classroom, and are well-versed in educational theory and practice. In addition to degrees in education, ATI s professional development staff have substantial professional educational experience obtained through teaching learners of all ages. Because they have been in the trenches of public education, they are sensitive to the everyday challenges facing educators, and include innovative and practical solutions in their instruction. Your Place or Online ON-SITE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Create enthusiasm program-wide by hosting a Fundamentals of Galileo professional development session at your location. A minimum of 20 participants, and maximum of 40 participants, for each session applies. On-site professional development is arranged through your ATI Field Services Coordinator and available on a first come, first served basis. Call 1-800-367-4762 to schedule your professional development session, check technical requirements, and receive instructions for purchase orders. Registration forms do not apply for on-site sessions. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT Take advantage of the technology revolution by pursuing Galileo professional development online. Online courses are an affordable, convenient way to get the customized Galileo professional development and information you need to ensure success. Fundamentals Online Tutorials Individual License: Sessions begin on the first of each month and can last up to six weeks. Individual registration must be processed one week in advance of the session start date. Site License: Available to all individuals within a site, including staff hired within the year. Easy enrollment procedures for individuals to schedule sessions throughout the year. The re-enrollment option gives individuals a chance to continue the tutorial if they do not complete the requirements within six weeks. Mastery of Galileo Individual License: The mastery course is available for college credit and is offered in 24 week sessions for ease in communicating with classmates. It is an instructor lead self-study course allowing participants to customize their training schedule and work at their own pace. Focuses learning on key components including the use of Merlin for information management of children and family services and reporting. Familiarizes users with the various Merlin reports available to educators. Provides instruction on how to complete, generate and upload your PIR. Self-Study Available For College Credit Mastery of Galileo and the Electronic Management of Learning GOL201 COURSE OBJECTIVES Individuals who will be taking a leadership role in the training, supervision, and ongoing implementation support of Galileo users. Advanced Galileo users such as administrators or teachers using Galileo EML for decision-making. and the Electronic Gain an in-depth understanding of the Galileo system and how arning powerful data can be used to assist educational programs in their GOL201 and G2201 efforts to promote learning. Gain an understanding and appreciation of the scientific foundation of Galileo and how this technology can impact the educational process. Obtain advanced Galileo knowledge and skills to document outcomes, link assessments to the creation of lesson plans, and communicate with all stakeholders in education. Become versed in using additional application features used to manage information on children s families, program staff, and volunteers. Provides lead staff with the tools to teach and support their staff s use of Galileo technology. Self-study online course design allows busy educators to learn more about Galileo on a schedule of their own choosing and at their own pace.
