Copper Pre-terminated Assemblies
Copper Pre-Terminated Trunk Assemblies Overview Copper Pre-Terminated trunk assemblies are the perfect solution for Enterprise / Premise & Data Centre applications where speed of installation is important. Factory termination and testing simplify installation, saving time and labour when compared to field terminated installations. Bespoke configurations in pre-engineered lengths with connectors to meet the specific needs of each application. Assemblies are typically built with a choice of 6 or 12 cable bundle using LSZH jacket. Standards compliant premium connectors and cable are used to ensure the best possible headroom and performance. Testing All preterms are 100% factory tested using the latest tier 3 tester; hard copy results for each link are packed with every preterm. Soft copy results are available upon request. Components We only use premium components for the production of our copper pre-terminated trunk assemblies to ensure the highest possible headroom. Construction Trunk assemblies are supplied in bundles of either 6 or 12 cables. A braided sleeve is applied to preterms up to 15mtrs in length and break out points are secured with heat shrink. Each link is labeled with corresponding port numbers as standard bespoke labeling requirements can be arranged at the time of order. Assemblies above 15mtrs will be bundled together using hook and loop tie wraps. Packaging Each preterm breakout is covered with a bubble wrap pocket to ensure protection of connectors during transportation, each coiled assembly is then packed and heat sealed into a PE bag and test results attached. Long length assemblies will be coiled and supplied in a cardboard box. 2 www.optronicsnet.com

1Typical Application Scenario Enterprise / Premise Jack - Surface Box 1 Jack - Jack 2 Jack - Plug 3 Jack - Open End 4 1 2 3 4 Jack to Jack Ideal for fast installation of the permanent link, panel to panel application requires the use of an empty keystone panel frame (400-001) supplied separately. Patch cords would then be used to complete the channel between active equipment (i.e. servers and switches). Jack or Plug to Open End Used in applications similar to the Jack-to-Jack configuration, but one end would be terminated to a PCB panel instead of an unloaded keystone panel. This termination type requires field testing of the drops after the cables have been terminated. Jack to Surface Mounted Box Ideal for simple moves, adds and changes on the office floor, the jacks are installed into a 400-001 unloaded panel frame and patched into the relevant active equipment. The surface mounted box can be positioned into the desired location in the work area where users PC s can be patched into the network. Jack to Plug Eliminates one cross-connect point by installing the RJ45 plug directly into the active equipment (i.e. switches). The keystone jack termination snaps into the 400-001 unloaded panel, which would then be patched to other active equipment or work area ports as necessary. 4 www.optronicsnet.com
2Typical Application Scenario Data Centre Jack - Plug 1 LGX - Plug Jack - Jack 2 LGX - LGX The Keystone LGX is a 6 way cassette to enable installation of keystone jacks into our 1U sliding panel S13XXX00 (up to 18 ports) or the 3U Chassis (up to 84 ports). This system can also be combined with any of our Fibre LGX configurations allowing a mixture of copper and fibre in one panel. This solution is perfect for data centre applications where high density installations are a must. 1 LGX to Plug The LGX Plug assembly eliminates one cross-connect point by installing the RJ45 plug directly into the active equipment (i.e. switches). 2 LGX to LGX Ideal for fast installation of the permanent link, panel to panel application. Patch cords would then be used to complete the channel between active equipment (i.e. servers and switches). Copper Pre-terminated Assemblies Brochure 5
