Introduction to ARGUS Developer 7
ARGUS Developer version 7.0 Overview On the surface, when moving your existing modules (Project and Structured Finance) to ARGUS Developer 7.0, the existing functions & features will behave in the same way as before (with a few user interface changes). In addition, there is a new module called Snapshot, which allows you to import actuals transactions from your accounting systems to allow up-to date monitoring & tracking of your Development project. And underneath it all, we are using a database platform which allows us to introduce the new Snapshot module. By moving to a database platform allows the application to handle more data, be more flexible on how that data can be utilised and technical benefits for future enhancements. Ribbon Bar The Ribbon Bar now includes access to the ARGUS Backstage Area (replacing the ARGUS button) and Budget commands. ARGUS Backstage Area The ARGUS Backstage Area replaces the ARGUS button from earlier versions. It allows you to manage File & Data operations plus System Configuration. Once logged onto ARGUS Developer, you are directed to the Projects page which lists the available portfolios and projects available to the user. Backstage Area functions Manage file & data operations. Portfolio Browser A list of Portfolios that hold and organise Development projects. ARGUS Backstage Area (continued) Further sections allow the user to Import & Export the relevant data files, manage database connections set system & user preferences. And if you have the Snapshot module, you can map your chart of accounts to import transaction data from an external source. Control Panel Manage database connections, logon credentials, security and system settings. Import/Export Data Import existing ARGUS Developer files to the database plus actual transactions. (New) Snapshot module - Budget Cash Flow Once the decision has been made to commit to a development, your project model is copied and displayed in the Budget Cash Flow workspace tab. Budgeting information (Original Budget, Actuals, Variances etc.) per item in the Project Cash Flow is displayed allowing the user to track the project on an up-to-date basis. Budget tab A new ribbon bar contains commands to manage the creation of budgets and spreading variances from forecasts. View Allows the user to view the cash flow from a different perspective (Original or Revised Budget, Actual/Forecast) and see the related KPI s for that particular view. Actuals/Current/Forecast The Budget Cash Flow is sub-divided into 3 sections that represents the historic records, current to date position and the future forecast. Budget rows For each item in the cash flow, you can track the expenditure/receipts against the budgeted value over time. 5 2015 ARGUS Software, Inc.
(New) Snapshot module Spread Variance If your actuals are at a variance to the forecast, this new function allows you to re-distribute or absorb the variances into the future periods. Spread Variance Allows the user to view the cash flow from a different perspective (Original or Revised Budget, Actual/Forecast) and see the related KPI s for that particular view. Snapshot Reports Three new Snapshot module reports have been added to ARGUS Developer that allows a consolidated view of multiple portfolios and projects. In Summary Enhancements: File & Data Management and System Configurations are now placed in the ARGUS Backstage Area. Different levels of security can be added to the individual user or user groups. A dedicated Budget Cash Flow workspace tab to monitor your actual transactions against a budget. Ability to re-forecast your model to take into account actuals. KPI s that update as actual transactions are imported. Three new reports. o Budget Summary (down to individual cost code level) o Cash Flow (greater flexibility on what can be displayed) o Actual Transaction Log- see details of what has been imported. Budget Summary & Cash Flow reports can consolidate multiple portfolios and projects. ARGUS Developer version 7.0 will map to your existing chart of accounts. Can connect directly to 3 rd party systems that record the actual transactions or import from.csv or.xml files.
