Always Show. Respect Kindness Responsibility Self Control Readiness Obedience Diligence Good Sportsmanship Attentiveness Cooperation Honesty
Think Time If you choose to have bad behavior, you will sign the board(1 st -3 rd ) or book(4 th -6 th ) & sit in think time for a short while under the white board. A communicator is then sent home to your parent or guardian to be signed and returned. It explains what occurred in class that day. When the board or book are signed, your conduct grade starts going down, depending on your grade level. The grading scale is posted under Enrichment on the school website.
Shoes PLEASE wear appropriate shoes for Physical Education class. This has been an ongoing issue, and safety is important. Always wear tennis shoes that cover your toes, heels, have rubber soles, and won t flop off your feet. Be sure to wear socks when you have P.E. class since we do certain things that require taking our shoes off i.e. Crab Soccer. No sandals No flip flops No crocs No boots No shoes with heels
How to Dress for P.E. Dress for activity and movement on the floor on P.E. days. If you must wear a skirt or dress on your P.E. day, please wear shorts underneath. No spaghetti straps and shorts must go to the bottom of your finger tips with arms beside you. Please come to class prepared to be active!!
What if you don t wear the right shoes/clothes? You get one FREE PASS and do an alternate activity. After that, you will sign the book & do an alternate activity. On your third offense & thereafter, you sign the book, do an alternate activity, & your citizenship grade drops each time.
Bathroom/Drinks Please go to the bathroom before or after P.E. class. Class is short, so we don t have time for everyone to have a bathroom break. There are no water breaks until we re finished with warm-up. When we are done with warm-up, you may ask to go to the water fountain during class.
Can t participate in P.E.? If you are sick or hurt and can not participate in class for. 1 class period- I need a note from your parent/guardian to excuse you. 1 week or longer- I need a doctor s note to excuse you telling why and how long you can not participate. If a doctor s note says you are not to participate until released by the doctor, I will need a release form in order for you to participate again.
Nurse Pass If you hurt yourself in P.E., You will go to the nurse with permission & a nurse pass in hand. She will check you out. If you come back with ice, you will sit out the rest of the class period holding ice on the hurt area.
Personal Items All jackets/hoodies go on the tables in the gym if you choose to take them off. Then, they will go to the lost and found by the 5 th grade hallway if not claimed by the end of the day. Small items such as bracelets or glasses go on the cart at the front of the class. Don t forget them before you leave.
P.E. Routine Walk silently in the correct door on your side of the gym. Walk down the black line to the back of the gym, up to your squad seat, & sit quietly, showing me you re ready for class to start. We will check for the correct shoes. Fitness Warm-Up Main focus activity lesson or game Short closure As we leave, we line up silently in our squad row order. We dismiss by squad row numbers. If it was intense activity and we have time, the class will get drinks on the way out. A grade level teacher will pick up on both sides of the gym at dismissal.
