What is the WMJobs service? The WMJobs service is managed by West Midlands Councils, who offer a range of services on recruitment and talent management so that you can pick and choose the elements you want to use. The WMJobs Partnership leads and monitors the service West Midlands Council s deliver, which means the service really is developed and delivered by the public sector in partnership. The WMJobs system is powered by Stepstone Solutions. They are one of the worlds leading providers of total talent management solutions and the I-Grasp system used to deliver our service to you is used by other key public sector organisations including; MI6, MI5, GCHQ, HM Prison Service, Royal Mail, BBC and several London Boroughs. We deliver our CRB service in partnership with Capita and our online occupational testing service in partnership with SHL. The WMJobs partnership is open to any public or voluntary sector organisation, in the West Midlands or Nationally. If you are in the NHS, Police, Fire Service, Higher Education Sector or Voluntary Sector we would like to work with you.
How do I get involved? To make it easy for you to choose a package that is right for your organisation, we have outlined the services we offer in three easy options. Gold Service You recieve a complete e-recruitment system, which means you get everything the I-Grasp system has to offer; processing a vacancy from creation/approval through advertising, application and appointment. Silver Service You recieve an online advertising and application system, which means you can advertise a vacancy on WMJobs.co.uk and receive online applications, which are then processed via your internal HR system. Bronze Service You recieve a jobs board service, where you can advertise your jobs online but must direct candidates elsewhere to apply for the job. Gold, Silver and Bronze services all get: Access to Capita s online CRB service Access to SHL s online occupational testing service An online redeployment site for your organisation Access to talent pools An ability for you to create and launch bespoke micro-sites We strive to tailor all of our services to your own organisations needs, this is not an off the shelf solution, as it has been developed specifically to cater for public sector requirements. The WMJobs brand was established in 2008 and we are growing daily. We are now the leading public sector job website and receive over 5 million hits and over 250,000 unique visitors per month.. which is nearly 50% more than our nearest competitors.
How much does it cost? The WMJobs Partnership has buying power. The costs we have negotiated for you are the lowest you can access and we have agreement with our providers that they will not charge any organisation in the Region, the same costs or lower. Individual purchase and implementation of the system by a single organisation would cost around 40,000 in set-up costs and over 40,000 per annum in licensing fees. The WMJobs service has received over 650,000 in set-up costs from IEWM (the Improvement Partnership for the Region), which has allowed us to keep our costs low. Subscription fees for the WMJobs service have been fixed for three years and for 2011/12 are between 3000 and 12,000 (for full usage of the service), equating to a saving of between 96% and 70%. We can help you to generate large efficiency savings as a result of this service improvement. WMJobs system is expected to save over 2.6 million across our current 20 partners by 2014. In a large organisation this could equate to a saving of 40,000 per year. Processing Paper Applications we estimate you could generate a 50% - 100% reduction in paper applications received. In a large organisation this could equate to post and print savings of between 7,500-14,000 per year. Reduction in Personnel - we estimate you could reduce the number of HR officers required to support recruitment and safeguarding checks, in a large organisation this could equate to a saving of up to 32,000 per year. In a large organisation this could equate to between 20,000 to 40,000 per year. Benefits to your Recruitment Team Your recruitment team can move away from operational recruitment into delivering a strategic recruitment service. You can tailor the recruitment experience for line managers and candidates so that it fits the exact requirements of the job. The WMJobs service offers some fantastic cutting edge benefits to recruiters: Online vacancy approval process You can create an online approach to vacancy approval, so managers at any level in your organisation can be invited to approve a vacancy. Online shortlisting process You can carry out all short-listing online. Any manager or recruiter can access the system and view vacancies as and when they are submitted, rather than waiting till the closing date to sift through hundreds of paper applications. Screening questions You can create specific job-related questions that can be added to vacancies which mean you no longer have to rely on using a generic application form. This will help you reduce the number of applications made from candidates who are unsuitable for the position. Internal Only posts can be advertised in a specific order, for example, to the redeployment site initially, then internal only, then to the main wmjobs site, allowing you to automatically control where and when a job is live. Bank of documents/templates you can create a bank of job descriptions, person specifications, advert templates for your organisation, which makes it quick and easy to advertise multiple and repeat vacancies.
Candidate tracking You can invite candidates to interview, to submit additional documentation, complete CRB forms all online. You can also track a candidates progress to see if they have completed relevant requests, thus reducing the need for a candidate to contact you, or vice versa. Talent pools You can create specific talent pools for any job or service area. So if you get a lot of applications for certain jobs, you could create an admin pool or a newly qualified teachers pool. In-depth reporting tool You have data at your finger-tips in reports that you generate and set up. There is no longer a need to manually collate or report on statistics. You can also compare data with other organisations in the Region. Benefits to Candidates Do you want to attract the best candidates to your organisation that are motivated, innovative, creative and forward thinking? If yes, then give them a recruitment experience that is in line with that expectation. We find that candidates don t want to complete paper application forms, deal with non-user friendly IT systems and have to wait for the postman to arrive to let them know details of their interview. They want a fast, online service that is comparable to applying for a job in the private sector. Redeployment pool You can now manage at risk employees online, so that they are notified when a job suitable for them automatically becomes availible. There is no longer a need to manually match employees to jobs.
F Via WMJobs your candidates can create a user friendly account where they can apply online for your vacancy with a tailored application form based on the specific job they are applying to. You can communicate with your candidates through the system, inviting them to self-select an interview time, submit reference information and contact you directly. If a candidate wants to apply for more than one vacancy, all their information is saved, so they don t have to complete multiple application forms. Candidates can also register for job alerts, so they receive details of new jobs meeting their criteria, straight to their in-box.
The online redeployment site works exactly the same as the public WMJobs site, which means your at risk employees can experience the same fast and responsive application service that is internal to your own organisation.
What our customers say. WCC have hit the ground running and not stopped yet. We have many managers trained up now and the majority have expressed their appreciation of moving the recruitment process forward (electronically) and welcome the next instalment of on-line CRB s and SHL Testing. Jo Farley HR Resourcing Manager, Wolverhampton City Council What the wmjobs system has given is greater flexibility in how we can use the system and advertise vacancies. We now can advertise internal only, which we could not do before on line, and advertise specifically to a group of redeployees and use on line facilities. We are starting to introduce the competency questions to application forms which we believe will save managers greater time in shortlisting especially if we introduce the killer questions to try and eliminate speculative applications but at the same time makes it fairer for external applicants in completing application forms by answering specific questions. The introduction of the i-grasp recruitment system has transformed our Recruitment Service and delivered a more efficient recruitment process. The WM Jobs site offers a professional, user friendly site and application process that supports our aspirations to make Warwickshire County Council an employer of choice. The WM Jobs team have been particularly helpful in supporting the team to utilise the full functionality of the system including, e-referencing, reporting, campaigns and talent pools. In addition the Recruitment Centre has absorbed the recruitment activity for Nuneaton & Bedworth Borough Council, implementing the system on their behalf and bringing efficiencies to their HR Service.
