Snøhvit LNG Project Operator: Statoil Primary Locations:Hammerfest (Norway) and Cadiz (Spain) Type of Project: LNG Size of Project: $$$$$ ($10+ billion) Omega Size: Up to 125 consultants PIMS Modules: Cost, Contract, Personnel, Change Management, CMS, Man-Hours Control, Monthly Report, Invoice Verification, Document Management & Uncertainty Management Personnel: Startup advisors, Personnel in All Disciplines, Systems Engineers Omega contributed with personnel and systems in this multi billion project in northern Norway. Many of the modules in PIMS were utilized from following up the cost and controlling the changes to handling the completion and commissioning of the project. On the non-commercial side, PIMS CMS was established as the overall Mechanical Completion and Commissioning application for the project. Adriatic LNG Project Operator: Terminale GNL Adriatico Srl Primary Location: Adriatic Sea, South-East of Venice, Italy Type of Project: Offshore Receiving and Regasification Terminal Size of Project: $$$$ (between 800M and 900M) Omega Size: 2 persons Pims Modules: Cost, Contracts, Man Hours & Rates, Monthly Reporting, QMS Personnel: PIMS system engineer / Cost Coordinator (Responsible for estimating and forecasting, and PIMS Supervisor) PIMS is the software package selected as the Aker Solutions corporate-wide solution for Cost and Income Control. The software package are being developed by Omega AS and are customized and adapted to match Aker Solutions global requirements. Omega has been involved with the Adriatic LNG Project since spring 2005, through Aker Blueprint project. The project is new developed GBS solution with a LNG Topside. Size on platform approx 90.000 cubic, topside approx 18.000 ton. The GBS is built in Spain, while the topside is built in Spain, Sweden and Singapore. Many innovative developments were done, including the first integration of TeamDocuments for transmittal tracking, automated contractor document imports with numbering structure mapping to decrease inconsistencies, and a regulatory compliance module meeting specifications by the main EPC contractor. Approximately 150 team members used PIMS on a daily basis, mostly on cost / contract modules, Risk and Quality Management. Since project start-up, Omega has delivered a dedicated PIMS Support team for the project. PIMS has been approved as a BP International corporate tool for Interface Management. PIMS also covers other areas of the Management of Change process like: Engineering Query, Site Query, Deviation Request ++. The BP PIMS is entirely web-based, allowing interaction with external parties. The Action Tracker is a module that is shared with all other modules, allowing the project teams to gather all their tasks in one place. 80-90 projects worldwide are using Pims. Alcoa Operator: Alcoa Primary Location: Brazil Type of Project: Aluminium Refinery and Mining Size of Project: $$$$ (between $1 and $5 billion) Omega Size: 1 consultant PIMS Modules: CMS Personnel: PIMS Systems Engineer Omega has been involved with Alcoa since 2006 in Brazil. The first project we re involved with is the Alumar refinery expansion project, which is the expansion of one of the largest aluminum production complexes in the world. The second project is the Juruti Project, which is a major bauxite mining project. We provide the Completion Management System for both projects, being used by the company s own team, and supported through a maintenance agreement with Omega. WBS, Estimate and defining cost and progress plans was established the same spring together with the Project Portal. During the summer the Change Management module was introduced and together we had 50+ PIMS users in this project. An interface to SAP has been established and running on a monthly basis. PIMS project portal was established together with a File Store module for storing project documentation. Ahead of the bidding phase the PIMS Bid Management module was implemented and customized for the project. Project personnel and bidders were all trained in the use of the module and Extranet was used to enable vendors to ask queries directly in the system.
