Borden s (Now Borden) Automated mini-broadway musical The World s Fair 1964-1965 Queens, NY Producer: Fair: Pavilion BORDEN S After a sleepless winter of hard labor, a brand new creative exhibit company, Communications, presented its maiden production, a world s fair pavilion for a leading dairy products company, Borden s. The Better Living Center pavilion consisted of a half a dozen product displays and side shows. The main attraction, a mini-broadway musical revue All About Elsie caused a real New York buzz. In front of the curious eyes of the brave new world it employed automated cartoon characters with Hi-fi audio, theatrical lighting and a live cow - Elsie Borden. It was a fitting start for the company. Never since has veered into mundane in its creative solutions. If there is a new material or technology, there is a chance that we have tried it already. Mercedes-Benz PGA Tournament Luxury VIP Lounge Hazeltine National Golf Club, Chaska, MN GO! Productions Builder/Multimedia Specialist: Floor Space: 6,000 sq. ft. MERCEDES-BENZ As the Official Patron of PGA of America, Mercedes-Benz introduced a high-tech and history-themed respite for the visitors at the 91st Championship tournament: The PGA Performance Center. Centuries of the evolution of golf and nine generations of the Mercedes E-Class were paired to make a perfect promotional drive. The message was channeled into this immersion space by a multi-faceted, masterfully produced embrace of Multimedia with actual automobiles and artifacts. An estimated 200,000 event visitors were greeted by the latest Multimedia starting from a battery of LCD monitors. A product specialist operated a 10ft.x5ft. wall-mounted interactive multi-touch screen, familiar from current news broadcasts. For the first time, the client successfully utilized multi-touch surface computing tables. Multiple guests interacted directly with parallel programs about the PGA and Mercedes-Benz with an added feature that enabled the sending of e-mails. All this was backed by a super-wide heroic-size 60ft.x10ft. LED video wall.
Starbucks Retail Multimedia Kiosks Nationwide Distribution Smart Design STARBUCKS A partnership between Starbucks, Smart Design, Hewlett Packard and Communications was formed to create a music download station for the famed coffee house chain. As the display and multimedia specialist, was responsible for engineering, fabrication and roll-out of the self-service multimedia kiosk program to fifty flagship locations in two test markets. While enjoying their delicious brew the kiosks allowed patrons to access a music library and create custom CD s to their liking. While the CD was being made it was an opportunity for another Latte to keep the baristas busy.
Mercedes-Benz National Auto Show Exhibit Design: Multimedia: S3D Film Production: Communications with Lightspeed Design Total Floor Space: 14,000 sq. ft. MERCEDES-BENZ With the success of Avatar and a constant flow of Hollywood S3D movies, it was the time for Mercedes-Benz to introduce stereoscopic 3D film to auto show audiences to promote new models and their leadership in automotive technologies. We not only delivered the industry s first large venue passive S3D film as an attractive and powerful hi-tech marketing vehicle, but we boosted the total show experience with a battery of supporting Multimedia in a ground-up built new exhibit. Tech-talk: We created a 14,000 sq ft exhibit space that contained three 8x2 frameless LCD video walls, a dozen interactive video Monroney wheel stands, four 46 passive 3D monitors on the exhibit floor that mirrored the big screen s contents, 100,000 pairs of branded Mercedes-Benz circular polarized glasses and, as the marketing messaging epicenter, a 16 x 9 rear projection screen S3D film system powered by two stacked super-projectors.
Planned Parenthood Federation of America Video Distribution System for a Display Set New York, New York The Moderns PLANNED PARENTHOOD FEDERATION OF AMERICA The challenge was to show consistency and variety across seven floors of the PPFA s corporate headquarters. Working with The Moderns, we designed and built an automated video display system. It distributes seven MPEG movies to 49 video screens located throughout the seven floors. Two computers with quad graphic cards and a cat5 distribution system are used for VGA transmission. The display system also includes an array of monitors at each elevator bank for pushed web content. We provided a touch screen system using a custom screen with a built-in computer.
JLG Industries Automated MPEG Playback System Travels throughout the U.S. JLG INDUSTRIES Draw them in, then tell the story. To support and enhance the new custom tradeshow exhibit that created for JLG, our multimedia team designed and built an automated playback system. It uses an 8-channel MPEG player that plays more than 100 video files on eight separate wide-screen plasma displays. We synchronized these displays and programmed them to present different content throughout the day. also designed and installed informational kiosks, enabling attendees to search in real time for used JLG equipment.
Mercedes-Benz Lead Retrieval Kiosks Travels throughout the U.S. MERCEDES-BENZ To the customer, they have to be fast, easy to use, and convenient. To Mercedes-Benz, the leadretrieval kiosks have to generate information that result in new sales. set out to design and build an interface that meets both sets of needs and is in keeping with Mercedes-Benz s reputation for luxury and technology. We gave the interface a colorful touch screen with virtual on-screen keyboards for data input. The system collects all leads and automatically uploads them to a secure server in real time, via a wireless network. For greater customer convenience and more focused information, the units employ both general and model-specific kiosks, as well as a separate system for the Certified Pre-Owned program.
Samsung Powerpole Select Airports Worldwide SAMSUNG Communications was brought into a partnership with Samsung and JCDecaux to create a modern day oasis for power-drained globetrotters, a travel electronics recharging station. Our own studio created the design for a kiosk that has become an icon for air travelers to instinctively park their gadgets and peripherals for a quick power boost. Almost half a century as a full service innovative exhibit company with in-house Multimedia Department makes challenges of this kind a design and engineering delicacy for.
Republic National Bank Investment Lounges Travels throughout the U.S. Turner Design REPUBLIC NATIONAL BANK The theme of the promotion was touch banking. As a unique service to customers, Republic National Bank sought to create investment lounges in 52 of its retail banking centers. Based on concepts from Turner Design, we developed a complete turnkey solution. It includes satellite TV, satellite Internet, custom programming for online investing, stock tickers, fixtures, and graphics. To meet the demands of this fast-track rollout, a new investment lounge went live every week. Floor Space: Variable
