Texas A&M AgriLife Extension is now charging for this session. When you register for this session, it also includes the fees for the manuals you will need. TDA does not give the exam it is administered by an outside group and you will need transportation to their facility to take the exam It is about a 15-minute drive and you will be assigned a time for the exam on Wednesday, December 16. Only those who are pre-registered will be guaranteed a time for the exam. You will pay the exam fee directly to them when you test. You will need a photo i.d. (driver s license) for the exams. Please bring a calculator to the general exam and ornamental and turf exams they both have calibration problems. If you are a new applicator you will need to take the General test and at least one category test to get a license, usually the Landscape Maintenance. You must send in your Applicator license applications to TDA before the testing and get you eligibility letter back so you can sign up for the test date. It is recommended that you allow at least one month for this process.

Attendees who know their square footages; turf species; target pests, budget and cost of their fertilizers and pesticides; irrigation precipitation rates; and sprayer speed, nozzle spacing, and nozzle output (tips) and have a calculator and specific questions will benefit the most. Learn what to look for and ask when hiring subcontractors or supervising applicators.
