The University Careers and Employability Service can help employers to gain access to students and graduates and to facilitate the recruitment process by advertising opportunities, organising events and advising employers on recruitment issues. 1. What service do we offer to Employers? a) Publicity The Careers and Employability Service can help your organisation target and recruit from the University s current students and recent graduates. Vacancies are advertised free of charge through a network of contacts and a variety of media such as our online vacancy service, email alerts and various notice boards throughout the University. We advertise for various types of vacancies including: Graduate Vacancies Paid Projects Part time jobs Vacation work Voluntary Opportunities Internships (Undergraduate and Graduate) You can place your own vacancy, visit Opportunities Online to register b) Facilities We can offer facilities and administrative support for selection interviews, aptitude testing and presentations on campus. We will be pleased to discuss your requirements and provide you with further details. c) Advice Our staff can offer advice on: Identifying and targeting the right applicants The best time to recruit Local and national graduate recruitment markets and salaries Additional contacts to help you fill your vacancy

When are we open? a) During term time our opening hours are: Monday Thursday 9am 6pm Friday 9am 5pm b) During vacation periods our opening hours are: Monday Friday 9am 5pm 4. What we ask of employers Provide us with clear and accurate information about your organisation, your requirements and your contact details Supply as much information as possible about your vacancies to enable us to provide the best possible service to our students/graduates Provide adequate notice for vacancies and events and inform us in good time of any changes or cancellations Observe the appropriate Careers & Employability Service Code of Practice(s) in relation to recruitment (available on request) Comply with all legislative frameworks relating to recruitment Provide us with constructive feedback on the effectiveness of our service and how we might seek to improve it we welcome both formal and informal feedback 8. Quality The Careers and Employability Service operates within a set of professional standards including: Association of Graduate Careers Advisory Services` Codes of Practice National Information Advice and Guidance(IAG) Board s Code of Principles ICG Code of Ethical Principles QAA Code of Practice on Careers Education, Information and Guidance 9. Feedback We re always looking for ways to improve our service, so please do get in touch if you have any feedback. An informal feedback form is also available within the Careers and Employability Service In addition to this, user feedback questionnaires covering different aspects of our service may be sent to you and you can comment on our website by using the feedback form on the home page of the Careers and Employability Service web site. Please help us improve what we do by telling us what you think. We continually monitor and improve our services and procedures by acting on positive and negative
feedback, and through our own observations and discussions. We actively respond to issues raised within the limits of our staffing and financial resources An annual evaluation report informs our annual service review and planning process. A copy of the report can be made available on request. Feedback can be given anonymously if you prefer - however if you require a response we would need your contact details. 10.
