1 Careers Fair Information for employers and organisations Why attend The annual Careers Fair takes place in November, attracting students and graduates from a wide range of courses. Our aim is to facilitate a marketing network for employers\organisations and students and to provide an opportunity for both parties to meet in a focused, but informal setting. The fair is open to all students and graduates Interested students are from many different disciplines who are looking for a variety of opportunities The aim is to attract a wide variety of exhibitors locally, nationally and internationally: o employers from major graduate recruiters to promote their graduate schemes, internships, industrial placements and vacation work schemes o employers promoting immediate and future vacancies o professional bodies o training organisations and providers o recruitment services to students and graduates o voluntary organisations o information on taking a gap year o information on postgraduate study and research opportunities o enterprise and self employment opportunities Careers Fair Key Facts Up to 1000 students and graduates attend the fair each year Approximately 60% are final year students, 30% are 1st/2nd years and 10% are graduates Employer quotes from our careers fair in 2015 Want to book a place? Bookings are accepted (subject to availability) until beginning of October The venue accommodates up to 50 places Early booking is essential. Request a booking form - contact, careers information officer, a.wright@tees.ac.uk Cost to attend One administration fee of 100. The fee is non-refundable. There are no discounts. 2 Administration Why employers choose Teesside University to market their recruitment needs: Your booking will include: Allocation of floor space to accommodate your stand and marketing materials (approx 3m x 3m stand space plus 'popular careers fair' 'quality of Teesside graduates' required tables/chairs). 3 Booking confirmation confirmation sent on receipt of completed booking form and summary of opportunities form Invoices are issued on confirmation of booking A further will be sent to you in mid October, detailing travel directions, car parking instructions, maps, and the availability to view the floor plans - as detailed in the sections below Floor plans Regularly check the careers fair web pages to find out who else will be there and to view the floor plans prior to the event. Note, the careers service does not have access to the venue until setting up the fair, and therefore, cannot take any responsibility for items going missing if they are delivered to the venue before the event. The items will be placed on your stand allocation space ready for your arrival.

4 Deliveries on the day If you are having items delivered on the day, address your items to: Careers Fair - XX/11/2016 Name of organisation, box X of X Teesside University Main Hall & Sports Hall Brittan Building for Sport & Well-being Borough Road Middlesbrough TS1 3BA Deliveries should arrive directly to the venue between 8.00am and 9.30am - in plenty of time prior to the start of the event If you have not arrived at the fair when your items arrive, careers staff will sign for your delivery on your behalf and place your items on your stand allocation space for your attention upon arrival Items for collection by couriers If you require couriers to collect your display stand/materials at the end of the event, couriers can access the venue between 3.00pm pm. If your courier is unable to collect your display stand/materials at the end of the event, you can arrange for your items to be collected from the Careers Service, First Floor Student Centre, Teesside University, Borough Road, Middlesbrough, TS1 3BA at the beginning of the following week. Please ensure your items are securely packaged and labelled with their destination address. Car parking One car park space is reserved for your company/organisation in the Quadrangle car park University Services staff will be on duty at the Quadrangle car park from 8.00am to welcome you and direct you to the Main Hall and Sports Hall on your arrival No parking permit required Unloading of equipment can be carried out in the cut at the front of the Middlesbrough Tower and side of the Main Hall. After unloading, vehicles must be parked in the Quadrangle car park Careers Fair car parking instructions and map On the day Car parking - see above instructions You may arrive from 8.00am onwards. We request that all exhibitors are set up by 10.00am and expect everyone to stay until the fair ends. This is so that students who have planned to attend later in the day have the same opportunity to meet with employers as those who attended earlier. On your arrival at the event reception our staff will be available to assist you. On your stand you will find an information pack containing: o postgraduate prospectus, undergraduate prospectus, part time courses prospectus o information about the university and the services on offer to employers provided by the careers service and our university departments o a copy of the careers fair opportunities guide o floor plans o list of stands o feedback form o free pens o envelope containing drinks vouchers and instructions for lunch If you requested access to the wireless network service, a set of user guides, including your username/password will also be on your stand.

5 Refreshments and lunch: o drinks only vouchers (included in your pack) are for use at the Main Hall coffee stop located in the foyer of the two halls o employer buffet is held in the Waterhouse building, from 12.00pm until approximately 1.30pm. A map and instructions is included in your pack, however, staff will be available to direct you there. The lunch period is often quite a busy time at the fair for students, so we would appreciate employer representatives stagger their lunch breaks. You may if you wish bring the food back to your stand.
