SCHOLARSHIPS Basis Application Requirements Use Process Brandon Stout To assist students who have financial need and have declared youth ministry (first preference) or education (second preference) as their vocational goal. GLCC Carter Ministry To motivate and encourage students who have declared the preaching ministry as their vocational goal. Recipients will be students who are classified as juniors and seniors, will be students who have declared a Ministry Major, and students who have maintained a minimum of 2.5 GPA. A written statement describing their plans or intentions to enter the preaching ministry after graduation. A personal interview with the College President. GLCC Committee will recommend candidates to the President. An interview with the President will be held. President will recommend one recipient. Education To supplement the tuition and cost of student attending Great Lakes College / Spring Arbor University and desiring to pursue a teaching certificate. student must be a full-time student at GLCC in the SAU program, have a 2.5 GPA, in pursuit of a teaching certificate, and display determined purpose and character. GLCC Leadership To assist the student in financial need who has declared their intent to enter the preaching ministry and has maintained a 2.5 minimum GPA. Danielle Kuest purpose of this shall be to provide financial assistance for worthy students who are enrolled in Great Lakes College with preference given to juniors, seniors or Native American Indians who are incoming freshmen. recipient shall have an academic record requirements as an incoming student or returning students who have maintained a minimum of 3.0 GPA, shall demonstrate a positive attitude and sense of purpose in life with expectations of serving in the areas of education, music or youth ministries., and shall display evidence of the character expected of Great Lakes College students. Essay on the topic of God in My Past, Present and Future. Committee shall make the selection of the recipient in consultation with Dr. and Mrs. Alvin Kuest. Priority will be given to a student of American Indian dissent and registered with a tribe. Priority will also be given to any student pursuing a Music, Education or Youth Ministries major. Dr. Brant Lee Doty for Higher Education Presidential candidate for the Presidential must be academically acceptable by GLCC admissions standards. awarding of this scholarship is not contingent upon a student s financial status; however, the student must apply for all other available scholarships and grants. Selection for recipients will be at the discretion of the President of GLCC upon the recommendation of the Admissions Department and Committee. GLCC First Church of Ypsilanti This was started to assist students who are in need of financial assistance for college. application Tuition, books/supplies GLCC General To provide financial assistance to a GLCC junior student who is a preaching, or worship music major. application Must have a 2.5 G.P.A. fees GLCC Good Samaritan Trust To assist the student who has financial need and has declared their intent to enter the preaching ministry or other vocational ministry work in the Church. recipient shall demonstrate genuine need, good academic record, a good attitude and sense of purpose. Awards may be extended to those students qualifying, regardless of the graduating class such student is in, but preference shall be strongly given to those students in their last two years of college education. GLCC Hamilton Family To provide financial assistance to a junior or senior student pursuing a Business Management Nonprofit major. recipient shall have an academic record demonstrating ability to meet College academic requirements having maintained a 3.0 GPA. recipient shall demonstrate a positive attitude and sense of purpose in life with expectations of serving in the areas of business and/or in a nonprofit agency. Preference will be given to any student from the Northwest Ohio region with a recommendation letter from an official leader of that Church or Church of Christ. GLCC

GLCC Institute for Black Family Development To provide scholarship support for African American ministers and church leaders pursuing an A.A. degree through the Adult Learning Program. Completion of the basic scholarship Tuition, books and GLCC Jeremy Johnson To provide assistance to any student pursuing ministry or missions, who demonstrates financial need, has a 3.0 GPA, and is able to contribute some of his/her own funds for education. GLCC Joan (Lotridge) Dickinson To encourage, help and support married women (of financial need) who have an interest in music/ education at Great Lakes College. Recipients shall be women who demonstrate a love for the Lord and possess a compassionate heart for their families and others. Recipients shall be women returning to or just beginning their education, who shall maintain a GPA of at least 2.75 and demonstrate characteristics of a woman, dedicated to God and her family. GLCC Committee in consultation with the music// education departments shall determine the recipient. Joe Clark To assist students who have financial need and who are in good academic standing with GLCC. GLCC Kay Brown Ministry To help recruit quality students intending to enter the preaching vocation. Students who desire crosscultural ministry as their vocation may be considered. Letter of recommendation from the minister/elders of the student s home church. GLCC Committee shall make awards based upon the recommendation of the Director of Admissions. Mary Martha Hargrave Music To motivate and encourage junior or senior students who have declared music as a vocational goal. Recipient will be students with a 3.0 GPA and have declared a Music Major or Music Minor. application, plus a written one-page paper describing the students vocational plans. May be renewed upon GLCC To provide financial assistance for worthy GLCC students. Mellie & Mae Amstutz recipient will have an academic record requirements as an incoming student or returning student with a minimum 2.5 GPA, demonstrate a positive attitude and sense of purpose with expectation of serving in a located ministry or related career, and display evidence of character expected of GLCC students. To provide financial assistance to prospective and present GLCC students. New York recipient will have an academic record requirements as an incoming student or returning student with a minimum 2.5 GPA, with primary consideration given to students coming from the northeastern U.S. and Canada (excluding MI, IN, and OH). GLCC Northside Church of Muncie To provide financial assistance to a male GLCC student participating in the Adult Learning Program who has declared the preaching ministry as his vocation. Tuition or GLCC Pine Run To assist a male, senior student who has declared the preaching ministry as his vocation. Maintains a 2.5 GPA or above. Tuition or GLCC Robert Monroe To assist a senior GLCC student, the son of a minister, who has declared the ministry as his vocation. GLCC Ronald W. Fisher Mission To motive and encourage students who have declared missions or a related cross-cultural ministry as their vocational goal. recipients will be classified as juniors or seniors, have declared their major in cross-cultural ministry (with secondary consideration to ministry) and have maintained at 2.5 GPA. Submission of a written statement describing the student(s) plans or intentions to enter the mission field or related field/career, and personal interview with the department head of the cross-cultural ministries. department head of the cross-cultural ministries will recommend a candidate to the Mission Committee of the Northview Church for their approval. Upon approval, the candidate will be recommended to the GLCC Committee for the awarding of the. Russell Ash purpose of shall be to provide tuition assistance for worthy international students who are enrolled in Great Lakes College. recipient shall be classified as an international student, shall have a genuine need and be at any grade level of study, and shall demonstrate an attitude and sense of purpose in life. A direction for ministry would be a primary consideration. recipient shall have been accepted through the application process of Great Lakes College.
