2 Metasys Historical Data Visualization Installation Bulletin Metasys Historical Data Visualization Introduction This document is intended as a guide to installing the Metasys Historical Data Visualization (MHDV) software. During the installation process, the MHDV configuration utility is used to set MHDV application configuration parameters. The MHDV configuration utility can be utilized any time after the MHDV applications have been installed so that parameters can be changed if needed. Note: The MHDV software requires an operating M-Series Workstation.
Metasys Historical Data Visualization Installation Bulletins 3 Key Concepts Overview of MHDV Configuration Utility The MHDV configuration utility allows users to select a database from the list of databases on the machine. Metasys Historical Data Visualization (MHDV) applications use this Data Source Name (DSN) to read the historical data from the selected database and display the requested information on the screen. When users launch an MHDV application, the application tries to connect to the history database specified by the configuration utility. If the database name is blank, or the application is unable to connect, applications show an error message. The configuration utility allows users to define the source for schedule information required by River of Time software.
