The Specialist Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering (SAME) is a diploma programme conducted by Air Transport Training College (ATTC), the Professional Development Centre of the Singapore Institute of Aerospace Engineers (SIAE). Description The programme aims to integrate basic aviation skills required for the aerospace industry and is embedded with 7 modules of WSQ Higher Certificate in Aerospace with specialisation in Aircraft Maintenance (Mechanical). SAME graduands will concurrently attain the WSQ Higher Certificate in Aerospace (Aircraft Maintenance - Mechanical). The Foundation Degree in Aircraft Engineering (FdEng) is a professional degree programme offered jointly by the Kingston University of London and Air Transport Training College (ATTC), the Professional Development Centre of the Singapore Institute of Aerospace Engineers (SIAE). Kingston University London in conjunction with KLM UK Engineering Ltd, designed and delivered this Foundation Degree in Aircraft Engineering. Foundation Degree (FdEng) is an industry-based, vocational qualification designed for people who want to get a practical start to their career. Description As well as providing a fast-track entry to industry, the Foundation Degree gives you the option of taking your studies further to BSc (Hons) level. Course Objectives This is a 2 year full-time degree designed to cover the knowledge requirements for the SAR Part 66 Cat B1.1 license. With 8 Aerospace WSQ modules embedded within the syllabus, successful graduands will concurrently attain the WSQ Higher Certificate in Aerospace (Aircraft Maintenance - Mechanical) and WSQ Higher Certificate in Aerospace (Engine/Engine Component Repair and Overhaul) The modules in this 2 year full-time degree programme will provide a firm foundation for an Aircraft Engineer. The Professional Certificate in Aerospace Engineering (Aerospace WSQ Aligned) is a training programme, jointly offered by Temasek Polytechnic (TP) and Lufthansa Technical Training (LTT) Singapore. Established in April 1990, TP is a significant contributor to the field of para-professional education in Singapore, which provide quality education that is relevant to the economy and industry. A landmark cooperation agreement was signed between TP and LTT in 2007 to train students from the two full-time Aerospace Diplomas namely, Diploma in Aerospace Engineering and Diploma in Aerospace Electronics. TP is the first polytechnic in Singapore to offer an aerospace diploma programme that meets the new SAR-66 standards set by Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore. Description Lufthansa Technical Training GmbH is a wholly owned subsidiary of Lufthansa Technik AG and a leading training provider in the aviation industry. In 1999, LTT was the first training organization to be certified as an EASA Part-147 (formerly known as JAR-147) for basic and type training. LTT received its SAR-147 certification in 2005 The training will enable trainees to gain knowledge in selected relevant modules of the SAR-66 (Singapore Airworthiness Requirements) Category A1 curriculum. Upon successful completion of each module, trainees can apply directly to the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) Category A1 examination for that completed module+ A combination of expert-led instruction, computer-based training, and practical exercises in the workshop.
