CMC Network Monitoring Software Rittal CMC Manager Rittal s own management software runs under Windows 95/NT. Simply enter the required IP address, and the connection can be made immediately. As you would expect, the CMC Manager also includes a trap receiver which documents the alarms of all available CMCs in the network with the date, time, address and name. Here are just a few of the convenient functions offered by this SNMP program: The CMC s management information base (MIB) is incorporated into the software and included in the graphical structure. The mains voltage value is graphically portrayed. The temperatures and any analog input values are graphically portrayed. The setpoints of the CMC can be modified directly. Photographs may be incorporated in order to personalize the software. These are configured with control fields in a setup menu. The interface texts may be designed individually. The alarm trap messages may be linked to a WAV file, so that the administrator receives an acoustic warning. Other EXE or BAT files can also be appended to the trap messages, in order to initiate counteractive action automatically. The CMC manager allows continuous data recording for up to 10 devices. The CMC manager monitors the direct availability of all CMCs with the live check function. HP Open View Network Management System SNMP management programs such as HP Open View allow the CMC to be incorporated and addressed via SNMP. The required MIB is included on disk. The MIB is easily incorporated by simply copying. The MIB-II standard (RFC 1213) is also supported and is included with the supply of the NMS. The private MIB contains all values, statuses, settings and setpoints, and may conveniently be linked to the functions of the HP Open View software. Cabletron SPECTRUM Enterprise Manager Management System The graphical user interface for the SPECTRUM Enterprise Manager covers every conceivable requirement. The MIB variables are arranged on the interface in a user-friendly configuration. This professional software package combines the highlights of the CMC monitoring system with the best features of the Cabletron product. Additional modules also allow the alarm trap messages to be relayed via voice mail. The user is notified of the event by telephone, giving details of the date, time and place. The trap function can also be incorporated into the SPECTRUM Element Manager. 59

Programming Software For CMC Extension Units The programming software (Windows 95/NT) permits user-friendly configuration and logical operation of the CMC extension units. Two extension cards are available for the CMC. A user-friendly configuration software package is included with the supply, in order to facilitate logical linking of the inputs and outputs. AND, OR, NOT and TIME elements may be used. The graphical interface runs under Windows 95/NT and is easy to use. The logic may be transmitted to the CMC in the network via TFTP or directly via the RS 232 interface. TELNET The CMC menu program can be activated via TELNET (VT 100). Settings and inquiries may be implemented. The CMC menu software and the TELNET server become active upon startup of the CMC. Smoke Alarm Sensor The smoke alarm sensor is an optical smoke alarm consisting of an internal measuring chamber (with infrared LED and photodiode) and an electronic circuit board. If smoke enters the chamber, an LED light pulse is partially deflected by the smoke particles, causing it to strike the photodiode, which in turn triggers further light pulses. If these light pulses strike the photodiode again, smoke generation is signalled to the CMC and an alarm is triggered. Lock Accessories Important: Consider additional holes and locking rod. Ergoform-S With Electromagnetic Locking The lock unit consists of a Rittal Ergoform-S whose swing lever is electromagnetically locked. With the door closed and the swing lever in position, locking is activated by switching on the lock magnet. For monitoring the door an access sensor is required. The CMC allows the swing lever to be released out by deactivating the lock magnet, so that the door can be opened. Deactivation can be initiated by one of the access units shown below, such as smart card readers, magnetic card readers, coded locks or network management systems. Furthermore the Ergoform-S includes a handle monitoring system with a reed contact. The CMC triggers an alarm signal if the handle is not in position when door is closed. The pushbutton insert supplied can also be exchanged for security inserts.
