1.Installations & Settings 1.1. Note Operating OS: Windows 2003/XP. Communication Port:A serial port, USB port or RJ45 port is required. For NT system, its installation is required to apply with administrator account ID. 1.2.3 Click [OK] to proceed to the next step. 1.2. Installation 1.2.1 Switch On the system, connect the communication port of the machine with the computer. While installing EnerSolisSA monitoring software, please login the file server as a Administrator. 1.2.2 Insert the software CD into the computer disc and select SETUP.EXE and the program should execute as follows. 1.2.4 Click on [ ] to start installation. Install: Click this button to install EnerSolis monitoring software Exit: escape from the software. 2 3
1.2.5 The [Change Directory] setup page allows user to select a desired location where the EnerSolisSA monitoring software is saved. The Setup program will automatically select c:\program Files\EnerSolisSA as the default path to save the software. Click [OK] to proceed to the next step. 1.2.7 It shows the installation is under process. 1.2.8 Upon Setup installation is completed, the following page will be displayed. Click [OK] to run the EnerSolis monitoring software. 1.2.6 The Choose Program Group setup page allows user to change the name of EnerSolisSA to his(or her) desired one. The Setup program will automatically select EnerSolis as the default Program Group. Click on [Continue] to continue installation. 4 5
1.3. Un-install EnerSolis Monitoring Software from Your Computer 1.3.1 Go to Windows Control Panel and select Add or Remove Programs. 1.3.2 In the Add or Remove Programs page, select EnerSolis and click [Change/Remove]. 1.3.3 The screen is shown as below, click [Yes] to confirm the removal of the EnerSolis Monitoring Software or click [No] to cancel the removal. 1.3.4 Click [OK] to complete the removal. 6 7
2. Function Explanations EnerSolis Monitoring Software is a simple, user-friendly monitoring system for solar system, which can be easily connected via RS232, USB(PCS) communication port. The Event Log function provides a list of records of all the events & tasks to be performed by the software. In case the system is out of order, the EnerSolisSA monitoring software is capable of notifying specified user(s) warning message with graphic via SMS & email instantly. The following chapters will provide detailed descriptions of these superior features provided by EnerSolisSA Monitoring Software. 2.1. Main Screen A. Real Time Information Monitoring: Real time monitoring shows real time status of the system.the monitoring status is listed below, which indicate all the information from the system itself. Detailed Description: Monitored Element Description Charge Monitoring: To display the information of Charge, such as DC1 input voltage, DC1 input current,input Power A, Inverter Heat sink temperature, Battery voltage,battery charge current and Battery temperature. B Tools Field C Info. & Control Menu PCS Monitoring: To display the information of PCS, such as PCS Input voltage,pcs Output voltage,pcs Load and PCS Temperature. If there is to install the PCS will display the picture and information. Illumination Monitoring: To display the illumination. A Real Time Information Monitoring If there is to install the Illumination sensor will display the information. Temperature Monitoring: To monitor temperature of the solar module. If there is to install the Temperature sensor will display the picture and 8 9
B. Tools Field: information. Message Box: To show alarm and error of the system. Shown on the alarm or error. The function of each tool will be displayed by moving the mouse cursor over it. Click on each icon to perform its respective function. To set the account(s), password, server or mobile phone number that SMS shall be sent while event occurs. To set the email accounts needed to be sent while event occurs. C. Information & Control Menu: Clicked the name of the system, the name turns as, and the Real Time Information Monitoring will be changed over to system. The system name shown in black letter as means the system works normally. When the system turns to red letter as shown as, it means the system is abnormal. To select this icon, please click and it turns with red color in background as. If the numbers of the system monitored and the name of them are longer to be fitted in the menu area, you may use to check the names shown in Info. & Control Menu. is to move to the first name on the left side; is to move to the next left; is to move to the next right; is to move to the last name on the right side. Or left-click & drag the system name(s) to re-arrange the Info. & Control Menu directly. 2.2. Language Selections The EnerSolisSA monitoring system provides various major languages for user s selection. On initial start-up, the software will automatically select the language similar to the default language of the operation system of the computer connected. If the default language is not supported by EnerSolisSA, English will automatically be set as default. This Language Selection button allows user to change the default language to other available languages. 12 13
2.3. System Configurations The screen below shows the System Configurations page. This page allows user to select & set the type of the connecting Com port, the system names and models. D. Ok button: Save system configurations and back to Monitoring. 2.4. Event List The Event Log function provides a list of records of all the events & tasks to be performed by the software and those that had occurred on each day of that particular month. A. Today: To indicate the day of today in Pink background. B. Events Window: Click any desired day on the calendar page to activate a pop-up window displaying a list of recorded events. C. Year/Month Field: Select the desired Year & Month to be displayed. D. Today s Event: Graphic symbols display the events occurred in that day. The descriptions of the event(s) will be displayed when moving the mouse cursor over the symbols. Please refer to the below table for the detailed descriptions. 2.5. Event Graphs The Event Graphs functions provide a summarized report of the recorded system operating data. The recorded data are represented with Line curves. The recorded data details of each Line Curve will be display by simply moving the mouse cursor over any of the respective curve. mouse cursor onto the navigating frame, click & hold the left mouse button to enlarge or navigate the frame to display other sections of the line curves. D. Filter: Use the Filter tool button to select the parameters to be represented as line curves. Select or unselect the desire parameters by clicking on the respective parameter field box. E. Calendar: Click on the Calendar tool button and select the desire date to view the event graphs. B. Time Table: Click on the Time Table tool button to display a series of time frames. Click to choose a particular time frame or drag the mouse cursor to select multiple time frames for longer period. Only the portion of the line curves government by the select time frame will be display. C. Browser: The Browser window displays the overview of all the line curves within the selected date and the time frames. The Black coloured navigating frame in the Browser window represents the section of the line curves currently being displayed on the main window. Move the 20 21
2.6. SMS The SMS function provides short message service via internet in case of any event. An alert message of recorded event will be sent to the mobile phone number preset through the server of a subscribed short message service provider. A Send Test B Account Setting C Event & Message Selections Click to send a test message to confirm the settings are correct. B. Account Settings: Key in the SMS provider name, ID, passwords, api-id (for Clickatell subscriber only) and mobile phone number (international dialing format, include + or 00 and country code). C. Event & Message Selections: Click to select the desired Events to be broadcasted and also their respective messages (You can change and retype the Message to meet your requirement.). D. Save Setting: Click [save] to save & apply settings. Note: Internet Firewall may block this SMS function. If the Firewall is installed, make sure it won t be blocked by it. D Save Settings This SMS function is only available through third-party Short Message Service Providers. To use this function you need to subscribe to the service with [every8d] and [clickatell]. At the moment, EnerSolis monitoring software supports both Every8d and Clickatell only. For more information on subscriptions and charges, please go to their respective websites as follow: For [Every8d]:Go to http://www.every8d.com/. Note: Please subscribe as Corporate account in order to be able to use with the SMS function of EnerSolis Monitoring System. For [Clickatell]:Go to http://www.clickatell.com/ Note: Payment has to be made to obtain an api_id before use. A. Sent Test: 22 23

C. Event & Message Selections: Click to select the desired Events to be broadcasted and also their respective message (You can change and retype the Message to meet your requirement). D. Save Setting: Click [save] to save & apply settings. Note: Internet Firewall may block this E-Mailing function. If the firewall is installed, make sure it won t be blocked by it. 24 25

2.10. Operating Icons Upon the EnerSolisSA monitoring software is running normally, those icons indicated below will appear at the right bottom corner. Each of these icons represents the current status of system. Place the mouse cursor over the icon to see the details of each status. Double left-click the icon to open Monitoring Display page and right-click to close and exit from the EnerSolisSA. The various icons are shown below: 3. Installation Troubleshooting 3.1. Symptom One: Warning message is as below, press ALT+TAB keys to close other program under application, re-install the software or restart system and install again. Click YES to install or click NO to go back to the warning message as above. 3.2. Symptom Two: When Warning message is shown as below, it means the software has already existed in the computer. Click YES to keep the existing software without overlapping it or NO to install a new software and overlap it. Click No to all to install new software and overlap the old one during installation process. 30 31
3.3. Symptom Three: Uninstall The below window will pop up if EnerSolis or its related applications are still under running while uninstalling. Please click [OK] to close all EnerSolis software to continue uninstall command. 32
