Diploma of Website Development (ICA50611) There are a number of possible study plans with the recommended Diploma study plan having the following key features: The recommended study plan will take a new student with no previous website development experience 18 months to complete and will have a Certificate IV exit point after the first 12 months. A Major Project focused on industry related projects is included in the Diploma of Website Development There is a focus on mobile website development with HTML5 and CSS3 for developing mobile based websites for iphone/ipad, Android and Windows mobile devices. There is an increased focus on website programming with the introduction of jquery and ASP.Net/XML programming. A focus on the development of websites and website content using the Adobe Creative Suite including Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop and Premiere Pro. A focus on dynamic and e-commerce website development using PHP, MySQL and ActionScript 3.0. The Certificate IV and Diploma will include new subjects in Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), Database Development (MySQL), Template based Website Authoring and Video Editing. Underpinning Skills and Knowledge The following underpinning skills and knowledge is assumed. If you do not have these underpinning skills and knowledge you should consider doing the lower level Certificates indicated in the table or at least the subjects listed from those levels. If you need to complete all of these you would be adding another 6 months of study. This is not an entry level qualification as there is assumed skills and knowledge that is required to commence at this level.
