3 1 COURSE ORGANISATION 1.1 Time Allocation The minimum number of hours of timetabled school time including assessment for the course of study at St Rita s College is 55 hours per semester. 1.2 Course Overview The two year course will be delivered within a Multimedia context. The course of study blends the content of the five threads with the required and other units of competency. Core material occupies 70% of the course. 1.3 Vocational Qualification In completing the course of study, students are given the opportunity to achieve a Certificate II in Information Technology (ICA20105) from the Information Technology Training Package (ICA05). A semester consists of 15 cycles (including testing time). Therefore, total time allocation over the two year course is 60 cycles. Core material (42 cycles) occupies 70% of the course time. Extension material (18 cycles) occupies 30% of the course time. Page 2

It will extend the previous units of Graphic Design, Introduction to Multimedia, 2D Animation and 2D Animation - Extension. Problem solving skills and a client-focussed approach will also be developed. At St Rita s College this will be done through: the teacher monitoring the development of the task by seeing plans and a draft of the student s work the student producing and maintaining documentation of the development of the response the student acknowledging all resources used; this will include text and source material and the type of assistance received having a Student Validation of Authorship on assessment items, that students must sign.
