SME SUPPORT AND FUNDING SME Support Organizations Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences The Small and Medium Enterprises Center aims to develop small and medium enterprises in the Arab world through training, guidance, networking and business enhancement. Business Development Centre The BDC was formed in 2005 to provide management training, functional support, and coalition building opportunities to encourage the growth of SMEs. It achieves these objectives by implementing a broad range of programs stimulating public-private partnerships and providing youth training and career development. Endeavor Endeavor supports high-impact entrepreneurs by providing an unrivaled local and international network of mentors who provide strategic advice. Euro-Jordanian Advanced Business Institute The Euro-Jordanian Advanced Business Institute (EJABI) is a non-profit organization supported by the Amman Chamber of Industry and aimed at developing SMEs. INJAZ The mission of INJAZ is to enhance the opportunities of Jordanian youth to become successful employees and entrepreneurs. It achieves this goal by working closely with partners to equip students with skills in leadership, business entrepreneurship, economics, problem-solving, and communication. Jordan Career Education Foundation The EFE Foundation runs tailor-made training programs that give unemployed young people the specific skills to acquire and retain a job. At the end of the training programs, graduates are placed in jobs with partner organizations and receive ongoing support through mentor and alumni networks. Jordan Enterprise Development Corporation JEDCO is a governmental entity that assists enterprises in their modernization by promoting efficiency and capacity building. Jordan Forum for Business and Professional Women JFBPW is an association of business and professional women in Jordan that provides ongoing opportunities to advance the interests of women in their businesses through strategic partnerships with sponsors, non-profits and international organizations. King Abdullah II Fund for Development KAFD contributes to programs that are designed to engage the underprivileged segment of the society in creative and productive activities in order to serve its broader goal of facilitating long term socio-economic development in Jordan. MENA Businesswomen Network The MENA Businesswomen s Network is a partnership of local businesswomen s organizations, Vital Voices Global Partnership and the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) of the U.S. Department of State. Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship The QRCE is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization. It was established in October 2004 with the mission to support economic growth by providing an array of services in entrepreneurship development and technology commercialization. Young Entrepreneurs Association YEA is a non-profit organization that aims to help small and medium sized Jordanian companies by educating and training entrepreneurs and facilitating the exchange of ideas. In addition, the YEA acts as an advocate for legislative change to create a more favorable business environment for startups. SME SUPPORT AND FUNDING Incubators Agro-Industries Business Incubator (Jordan Innovation Center) This incubator was established in 2005 to foster start-up, technology-based agro-industrial projects and provide these businesses with the support that will enable them to reach the commercialization stage. ipark ipark ICT Business Incubator provides companies with buildings that are fully equipped with communications and networking facilities, furniture, IT equipment and logistical support. It also provides strategic support through an experienced network of advisors with a proven track record in supporting ICT start-ups. In addition, ipark has established partnerships to secure preferential rates from marketing, auditing, legal, and technical services. The Industrial Scientific Research Fund The purpose of the ISRF is to encourage Jordanian businesses and national companies to invest in Research Training & Development (RTD) by providing financial support and training activities relevant to business development. Zain Ibda3 Zain Jordan s Ibda3 is an incubator program for youth between 18 to 25 years old. It provides business development processes, tools, and specialists, teamed up to nurture and support the early stages of new and small innovative telecom- related ideas. National Consortium for Technology & Business Incubation (NATCTIB) NATCTIB is a business incubator established to foster ICT start-ups and facilitate job creation in agriculture and general engineering. The incubator also offers office space to startup enterprises. Riyada Enterprise Development Riyada Enterprise Development Fund SME investment platform is designed to provide growth capital to an under-served market in the MENASA region. Riyada invests in businesses that are proven and have a core management team with the desire and capability to expand their business. The Fund will also provide capital to earlier stage enterprises particularly in the technology and media segments. HSBC Private Equity Middle East Limited HSBC Private Equity Middle East Limited provides equity capital to businesses operating in the region. SME SUPPORT AND FUNDING SME Banks Jordan Loan Guarantee Corporation (JLGC) The JLGC was established by the Central Bank of Jordan and other public and private sector institutions to facilitate lending to SMEs by guaranteeing a certain level of loans made to these businesses. SME banking Standard Chartered Bank Jordan The SME division of the Standard Chartered Bank is aimed at supporting entrepreneurs with their banking, business financing and trade financing requirements. National Micro finance Bank National Micro Finance bank is an initiative of Alwatani, which was established to set up banks for the micro and small entrepreneurs in Jordan and the rest of the Arab World. Bank of Jordan Bank of Jordan provides overdraft service to the small and medium-size enterprise sectors to meet their liquidity and operational needs.
