At ANCHOR, we share a love of creativity, productivity, and networking, as well as a supportive workplace environment. American Institute Of Architects (AIA-RI Chapter) The Rhode Island Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. AIGA-RI Chapter (Graphic Design) AIGA is built by and for its members. An active membership provides an audience for a viable and sustainable organization. Art in Ruins Art in Ruins believes that decay is beautiful, but not necessary. Artists live and work in the buildings that the city or developers have often forgotten, and these buildings (and the artists, musicians and businesses who live and work in them) are getting used for purposes that contribute to the community in a new way. Apeiron Institute The Apeiron Institute is a recognized leader in the field of sustainability education and advocacy in Rhode Island. Apeiron focuses primarily on educating Rhode Islanders toward developing greater awareness of sustainability issues and integrating sustainable practices into business, civic, and personal life. Association of Independent Colleges & Universities (Aicu-Ri) Website for the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities of Rhode Island. As220 Calendar of Events AS220 is an artist-run organization committed to providing an unjuried and uncensored forum for the arts. AS220 offers artists opportunities to live, work, exhibit and/or perform in its facilities, which include several rotating gallery spaces, a performance stage, a black-box theater, a print shop, a darkroom and media arts lab, a fabrication and electronics lab, and more.

2 Betaspring Betaspring is a Providence-based mentorship-driven startup accelerator program for young technology and design entrepreneurs who are ready to build a product, launch a company, and change the world. Betaspring brings competitive young entrepreneurial teams from around the world to Providence, for its twelve week program, during which they get companies up and running, provides mentorship, community, and line up investors interested in funding them. Center for Women and Enterprise CWE offers education, training, technical assistance, women s business enterprise certification and access to both debt and equity capital to entrepreneurs at every stage of business development. Their clients are drawn from a wide variety of racial, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds, spanning the range from women living in public housing who may want to start home-based or small retail businesses to women running fast-growth, multi-million dollar technology businesses. As a non-profit, CWE provides scholarships for its services in order to serve all women, regardless of their ability to pay. Brown University Entrepreneurship Program The Brown Entrepreneurship Program (BrownEP) is the student-run entrepreneurship initiative at Brown University. They have consistently collaborated with RISD and encourage RISD involvement in their programming. They seek to ignite entrepreneurship on College Hill by fostering active entrepreneurial learning and by providing student ventures with resources. URI Entrepreneurial Management & Law The Entrepreneurial Management major is intended to provide students with a background to tackle all aspects of a small business or entrepreneurial endeavor. The Entrepreneurial Management curriculum builds the skills necessary to successfully develop and manage a business enterprise. Bryant U. Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization Informs, supports and inspires students of Bryant University to be entrepreneurial and seek opportunity through enterprise creation. CCRI Entrepreneurship Certificate Program This certificate program provides individuals with a basic understanding of the principles, concepts and procedures necessary to start a small business. s1.shtml#entrepreneurship Business Innovation Factory BIF focuses on solving major problems in areas like healthcare, education, and government by creating a place where partners can design and test new solutions in a real-world environment. DesignxRI DESIGNxRI connects the vast design talent to harness and elevate awareness of the design community in the state of Rhode Island.

3 Entrepreneur Providence This site provides an excellent overview of advantages to starting a business in Rhode Island as well as resources for local entrepreneurs. John H. Chafee Center for International Business The Center provides comprehensive international trade services for businesses to expand into international markets. Greater Providence Chamber Of Commerce The Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce is the advocate for growing and protecting the business community in Rhode Island. The Chamber is a rich resource for growing your network, tapping into professional development programs and mastering the right tools. Johnson & Wales University E-Center The e-center brings together entrepreneurial studies, experiential opportunities, alumni mentors, venture funding and the small business support services to transform students into entrepreneurs and their ideas into commercial or social enterprises. Hatch Entrepreneurial Center Greater City: Providence Promotes the growth and development of the Greater Providence region in as urban a pattern as possible. Special focus is placed on the development of more walkable, affordable, and vibrant neighborhoods that are served by more robust mass transit and fueled by greater economic opportunity. Center for Innovation and Design at Johnson and Wales University The Center for Innovation and Design at Johnson & Wales University was launched in Fall 2013 to provide access to many pieces of rapid prototyping equipment and give student teams participating in the JWU Entrepreneurship Center a single point of contact and support for their endeavors. The Hatch Entrepreneurial Center provides regular free programming that supports local entrepreneurs to help them grow vital business skill sets. Machines with Magnets An analog and digital audio production studio and art space. VentureWell VentureWell is a higher education network that cultivates revolutionary ideas and promising inventions. They enable powerful approaches to stimulating science and technology invention, innovation and entrepreneurship on university and college campuses, and move the strongest ideas rapidly forward to commercialization.

4 RISD Office of Public Engagement RISD Public Engagement seeks to expand opportunities for students and faculty to engage in art and design as forces for social change through research, service initiatives, projects and programs in the public realm. Office of the Secretary Of State Dedicated to making it easier to vote, helping businesses grow, preserving our history and making government more accessible. Providence Office of Economic Development The office oversees all economic development initiatives and leads efforts to support existing businesses, attract new businesses and create jobs in Rhode Island's capital city. Pecha Kucha Providence A monthly format for sharing ideas, in which presenters are allotted 20 PowerPoint slides and 20 seconds per slide. Put simply: 6 minutes and 40 seconds of PowerPoint performance art. Presenters from all domains of creative activity are welcomed, however the experience should be primarily visual. Providence Business News Providence Business News is a local business newspaper and website. Providence Creative Capital Providence Creative Capital spotlights the people and businesses that make Providence a wonderful place to live and work. Whether you re a tourist, business owner, entrepreneur or resident, this website tells stories of local people harnessing creativity in themselves and their neighbors to create exciting things. Providence Department of Art, Culture + Tourism Ensures the continued development of a vibrant and creative city by integrating arts and culture into community life while showcasing Providence as an international cultural destination. Providence Economic Development Partnership PEDP is the economic development policy making body of the City of Providence. Rhode Island Film and Television Office A division of the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, dedicated to RI Film and TV.

5 RI-Biz Plan Competition The Rhode Island Business Plan Competition, open to everyone, seeks to promote entrepreneurship and development of start-up and early stage companies. RI Council for the Humanities An independent, nonprofit 501-c-3 organization, its funding comes from the National Endowment for the Humanities and raises money from private sources for grants in the humanities throughout the state. It funds programs that inspire and support intellectual curiosity and imagination in all Rhode Islanders through lifelong learning. Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, Design Innovation Grant Program The Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA) will offer one competitive $6000 grant annually to Rhode Island designers for design ideas that are highly creative and show potential for innovation and/or implementation. Slater Technology Fund The Slater Technology Fund focuses on the support of entrepreneurs who have the vision, leadership and commitment to build substantial business enterprises, providing seed stage capital to companies committed to building technology-based businesses in Rhode Island. Rhode Island Score SCORE provides confidential mentoring free of charge to entrepreneurs of start-up and established businesses in Rhode Island and nearby Connecticut and Massachusetts. RI SCORE is a chapter of the national SCORE organization, a resource partner of the Small Business Administration (SBA), a federal agency. South Eastern Economic Development Corporations As a regional nonprofit economic development corporation, SEED focuses on job creation by financing all types of small businesses in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. RI Small Business Development Center The Small Business Development Center provides entrepreneurs with best fit resources to create, transform and grow their businesses. What Grows On RI What Grows On in Rhode Island aims to be the most comprehensive listing of green events in the state. Every resident can quickly and easily find out about any public event growing on, so to speak, in Rhode Island. Woonasquatucket River Watershed Council The mission is to encourage, support and promote the restoration and preservation of the Woonasquatucket River Watershed as an environmental, recreational, cultural, and economic asset of the state. The Steel Yard An organization committed to cultivating an environment of experimentation and a community strengthened by creative networks. University Of Rhode Island Entrepreneurship Club For anyone interested in the executive business world, or who has hopes of owning their own business one day, club provides opportunities to meet C.E.O. s, entrepreneurs, and possibly even future employers across the country. ub
