Introduction Over the past 18 years... no other company on the planet has done more in the area of helping companies manage their travel and entertainment (T&E) spend than Concur. Over 15 million users from corporate clients around the globe use our solutions to help them manage their business travel and resulting T&E expenses. In 2011, those users generated over a half-billion expense line items representing more than $50 billion in T&E spend! With this tremendous amount of transaction data, Concur has unique insight into the trends that are driving T&E spend worldwide. This report captures some of those trends, providing a glimpse into what s driving an area of spend that is second only to payroll for many companies. The sample set of data used for this report was culled from Concur s vast T&E spend database. All data is anonymous and aggregated, so no specific client information is ever revealed. But the trends that can be gleaned from this data help provide an understanding as to what businesses spent on T&E in 2011, where they spent it, and which direction that spend is trending. I hope you find this data as interesting as I did. Enjoy! Michael Hilton Executive VP Worldwide Marketing 3
