Administrator access to the Desktop / Server where StoreGrid client will be installed. 2. Desktop / Server StoreGrid ID and Password provided by Adept Internet. 3. Internet access for : 1. Software download. 2. Automatic Updates of the software. 3. Backups to be sent to the Adept Internet backup server(s). 4. The following ports needs to be added to the Firewall exception for the StoreGrid Clients if a personal / external firewall is in use: o TCP Port 32005 o TCP Port 32008 o HTTP Port 6060 o HTTP Port 6061 Download StoreGrid for Apple Mac OS X. Using your favourite web browser open the link below and download the latest version of StoreGrid. Do not download the software from the Storegrid website as it will not connect to the Adept Internet Backup server(s) by default. Website : ftp://ftp.adept.co.za/mac_software/storegrid/ Click on the Installation file : VembuStoreGrid_x_x_x_SP_IMac_Client_Only.zip where x.x.x will be the latest version number. When prompted for a username, choose guest and click on connect.
2 After the file has finished downloading, navigate to the folder the file has downloaded to, and double click on the downloaded file to unzip. Navigate to the unzipped location, as chosen in the step above. Storegrid Apple Mac OS X Client Installation. 1. Double click "InstallStoreGrid" to start the installation. 2. If prompted that the installation file is from an unidentified developer, follow the steps below, otherwise skip ahead to step 6.
3 3. Click on the Apple sign at the top left, and choose "System Preferences". 4. Click on "Security & Privacy". 5. At the bottom left click on the lock to make changes.
4 6. Enter your administrative username and password for your Mac, and click on unlock. 7. Under the option "Allow applications downloaded from", choose anywhere and confirm by clicking on the "Allow From Anywhere" button.
8. Enter the administrative password for your Mac to continue, and click on "OK". 5
6 9. Read the information on the setup page, and click on "Next" to continue. 10. Vembu StoreGrid License Agreement : Go through the license agreement, select "I accept the agreement" and proceed to the Next step.
7 11. If this is a new install choose "Fresh Install" and click on "Next", otherwise if you are upgrading from a previous version choose "Upgrade" and click on "Next". 12. Vembu StoreGrid - StoreGrid Identity : (StoreGrid will skip this step and retain existing settings if it detects an earlier version was installed) The StoreGrid ID will be used to identify this installation of StoreGrid and must be exactly the same as the ID supplied by Adept Internet. Note: The StoreGrid ID is case insensitive. Hence, the 'StoreGrid ID' you have entered will be automatically converted to lower case. Fill in the Storegrid ID and proceed to the Next step. 13. StoreGrid Installation Option : Adept Internet recommends using the Typical installation. Here you can choose an option to go with a Typical installation of StoreGrid or choose Custom installation where you can specify the various options.
8 If you choose Typical installation, StoreGrid will be installed in "/Applications/Vembu/StoreGrid ". If you have limited space on your drive, choose Custom installation and select a different installation location. If you choose Custom installation, you can configure StoreGrid to be installed as a service, at a desired location, with a custom WebConsole configuration. Select the Typical Setup and proceed to the Next step. 14. Review your settings and thereafter, click Install, and proceed to install StoreGrid.
9 15. If installation completes successfully, you will receive a popup windows stating StoreGrid has been successfully started. Click on "OK" to continue. 16. A shortcut will be created on the desktop, double click on this to open up your default browser, to access the admin page of StoreGrid.
10 17. When Prompted with a Website security certificate error click "Continue to this website" to proceed. 18. For the first initial login enter the default username and password: Default Username : admin Default Password : admin 19. The Storegrid Client must be Authenticated and linked to the Adept Internet Backup Server. To do this go to Settings -> Authenticate Client.
11 20. Select the Adept Backup Server in the Server List "backup.adept.co.za" 21. Type in the Password provided by Adept Internet and click on Authenticate. 22. When completed the Backup Server will be listed below in the Server List. 23. Your are now connected to the backup server and the following documents can be followed for the setup of the required backups. File Backup Database Backup MSSQL MySQL
