While realizing how important it is in order to become visible to others and to be taken seriously by them, many of us have reservations against self-selling or are not clear about how to do it in a coherent way. The goal of this workshop is to provide the participants with a solid foundation for a confident and convincing appearance. We will discuss the first impression we leave, discover sparking moments as basis for self-confidence, realize how we can influence the perception by others and practice giving and receiving feedback.
OBJECTIVES > You identify your personal sales points and practice your self-presentation skills in various situations. > You develop a more confident style of communicative interaction. > You learn to give and receive detailed feedback enabling you to increase your reputation as a valuable source of advice. > You learn an easy and applicable model for handling day-today as well as difficult social interactions. PARTICIPANTS > The program addresses female PhD students, postdocs and other young scientists working in the ETH-Domain. METHODS > Very interactive two-day seminar using a wide variety of learning methods like group, pair and individual exercises, plenary discussions, role plays assisted by theoretical input on the relevant topics.
