Include your amended Business Plan in the Appendices Approx. 2500 words, divided into 3 phases as per below:- Phase 1 Review and Planning Phase. Identify an existing Business Plan that you developed or co-developed for an organisation or from your previous learning experience. If such a plan is deemed confidential in your work place then identify a published Business Plan from the literature. This business plan will be the focus document for study in this unit. Therefore it is critical to select a plan that you are familiar with and can perform quality research about. 1. Review your business plan, analysing strengths and weaknesses (SWOT analysis) of the business unit that is the subject of the plan. Then analyse performance management methods and performance benchmarking in order to assess the current position. 2. Detail research employed as follows to assess the fit of the plan to its internal and external environment. (a) Consultations with key stakeholders to analyse and interpret the business vision, mission, values and objectives of the organisational unit. (b) (c) (d) (e) A review of customer needs and the requirements for the service or product including possible costing / pricing options. Competitor analysis. The performance standards established or expected within the organisation. Financial, human and physical resource requirements for the organisational unit. 3. Comment on any inadequacies of the plan in light of the current research applied in items 1 and 2 above. Phase 2 Development and Implementation Phase 1. Amend your Business Plan so that it now aligns with the analysis discovered from Phase 1 above. Please ensure that the amended plan covers all aspects of the organisational unit and identifies performance indicators to monitor the effectiveness of the plan. The actual Business Plan must be submitted with your report as an appendix. 2. Detail your use of effective communication techniques to convey understanding and acceptance of the issues associated with your Business Plan. Your techniques need to encourage valid feedback as an appropriate means of implementing the improvements you advocate in item 1. above. Evaluate the effectiveness of your business plan using the performance indicators (KRA s and KPI s) developed in Phase 2.1. 2. Detail the strategy and processes used to improve the actual performance of individuals, teams or groups. e.g. Coaching for individual performance improvement. Your strategies should refer to Performance Indicators as the standard of acceptable performance in line with organisational objectives. 3. Make Recommendations to key stakeholders, to conclude the process of evaluating the effectiveness of your amended Business Plan. Recommendations should include refinements to: customers, market position, performance indicators, systems, methods, coaching, resources, reporting, etc.. Marking guide: BSBMGT617A - Develop and Implement a Business Plan This unit is GRADED. To demonstrate competence in this unit, the learner will need to provide evidence of the following: Competent Grade Prepare for developing a business plan by reviewing pre-existing plans, analysing business vision/mission, consulting with relevant personnel, identifying marketing, financial, human, legal and physical resource requirements and developing performance objectives and measures. Write a business plan ensuring all relevant and affected personnel understand performance and timeframe requirements. Monitor performance of business plan including the performance measurement and reporting systems Review performance of business plan and make adjustments as necessary including providing coaching and training to rectify under performance. Credit Grade In addition to the Competent criteria The Business Plan is properly referenced throughout, is well written and presented and demonstrates/includes a more detailed analysis, a critical review of data and information collected and collated together with some commentary on the procedures, tools and techniques used in preparation of the Plan.
