1.3 Project Description A. Work Includes: Upgrade (Renovation, Replacement and New Construction) of security systems, network infrastructure, and power distribution for the located in Philadelphia, PA. Work consists of, but is not limited to, the following: 1. Installation of new Meeting Rooms Card Readers and associated wiring to the owner furnished ACPs 2. Installation of new owner furnished ACPs. 3. Coordination with and assistance to Owner for System Commissioning. (Startup and programming of ACPs will be by owner). Provide technical staff, capable of making field hardware and system cabling corrections and/or modifications, on-site all times while SE is testing and commissioning the system 4. Replacement of existing and installation of new IP-based PoE video surveillance cameras and installation of associated Category 6 network cabling, outlets and power throughout the Convention Center locations as shown including Exhibit Halls A/B/C/F. 5. Replacement of existing perimeter door contacts as shown. 6. Furnish and install Back Boxes for Digital Signage Displays, located at entrances to meeting rooms and ballroom, and associated network and power wiring to designated connections of the Telecom Network infrastructure and power panels, as shown. Digital Signage Displays (DS), Digital Media Players (DMP) and other Video Equipment will be provided by others. 7. Install DSs and DMPs provided by PCCA. 8. Furnish and Install Telecommunications Infrastructure equipment and cabling upgrades to support AV and Security systems upgrades equipment and systems indicated including poke trough floor boxes at the main Ballroom. 9. Provide rack mounted UPS systems for new AV audio amplifiers. Include wiring from existing electrical panels feeding existing amplifiers to UPS systems and power from existing Generator Automatic Transfer Switches power distribution panels to the associated UPS system.. 10. Extending electric power circuits to location of Security system and AV system equipment from existing electrical distribution panels as shown. 11. Modifications to and re-routing of existing power distribution circuits to existing AV audio amplifiers and equipment connections to the new UPS systems. 12. Construct UPS security fencing at locations as shown. 010103, Page 2 of 5

13. Work to include removal and disposal of existing doors and hardware which are indicated to be replaced. 14. Furnish and install new FOH doors and hardware as indicated in the floor plans. Furnish and install new BOH door hardware as indicated in the floor plans. Modify existing frames to accommodate new hardware and low voltage wiring for card reader and security devices. 1.4 Contracts A. Construct Work under a single lump sum contract. 1.5 Work by Others A. Related Work which shall be executed prior to start of or during time of Construction of Work of this Contract and which is excluded from this Contract: 1. Work shown or indicated to be a part of Contract 11-02 B. Contractor's Work: 1. Coordinate delivery dates with other Work. 2. Promptly inspect delivered products for damaged or defective items. 3. Unload and handle delivered products at Project Site, including uncrating and storage. 4. Protect delivered products from exposure to elements and from damage and danger. 5. Repair or replace items damaged as a result of Contractor's operations. 6. Install and connect delivered products. 1.6 Contractor s Use of Premises A. Contractor shall limit use of premises for Work and for storage to allow for: 1. Work of other Contractors. 2. Owner Occupancy. 3. Public Use. B. Coordinate use of premises under direction of Owner s Representative (OR). C. A material staging area of 500 square feet shall be designated by PCCA for new materials. The PCCA shall be notified a minimum of 24 hours in advance of scheduled deliveries. Deliveries can be made Monday thru Friday, between the hours of 7 am and 4 pm. D. Work will be performed during times that areas of the building will not be in use, as scheduled by the PCCA. The contractor shall coordinate his work schedule so work is not done in public areas during occupied hours. 010103, Page 3 of 5

E. Implementation Plan: The Contractor shall submit, in accordance with the Submittals section of this specification, a plan for implementation of the work that incorporates the schedule restrictions and space availability per the Booking Calendar herein attached. No work shall be done in the public areas during the occupied times shown in the Booking Calendar. Back-of-House (BOH) work shall be performed subject to the specified noise control restrictions. Plan shall show details of what work will be performed in which areas, at what times, and the order or sequence of the activities to be performed under the Contract, etc. No work is to proceed under the Contract until after the Implementation Plan has been approved by the OR. F. Protect products furnished to and stored on Project Site. G. Move stored products to avoid interference with operations of Owner and other Contractors. H. Do not overload structure with stored materials. I. Leave all work in a safe and secure condition at the end of the work shift in all Front of House and Back of House locations. 1.7 Owner Occupancy A. Owner will occupy areas for purposes of Owner s business operations. B. Provide for Owner's use: 1. Access for employees. 2. Availability of necessary utilities. C. Coordinate the delivery of the work and turning over of elements of the work for the Owner s use with the OR. Coordinate the activation of security system devices with the OR. Part 2 Products N/A. Part 3 Execution 3.1 Contract Time for Completion A. Work under this contract shall be completed no later than March 31, 2012. All work, including project close-out activities, shall be completed in every respect within the contract time. The start date and completion date shall be as stated in the Notice to Proceed issued by the Owner representative. 3.2 Deliveries and Storage A. Coordinate deliveries with PCCA delivery procedures. B. PCCA will provide 500 square feet of storage in PCCA Central Storage area. All other storage is to take place off the premises. 010103, Page 4 of 5

3.3 Protection of the Site A. The Contractor shall provide adequate protection for all parts of the building. B. The Contractor shall leave all work in a safe and secure condition at the end of the work shift in all Front of House and Back of House locations. 3.4 Debris Control and Daily Cleanup A. The Contractor shall clean up the work areas daily and shall at all times maintain the project in as neat and orderly a manner as is consistent with normal operations. Debris resulting from construction operations shall be removed from the site daily by the Contractor. The Contractor shall keep all access, haul routes, and site areas free of dirt, debris, and other materials resulting from construction activities. B. Under no circumstances shall any rubbish or waste be dropped or thrown from one level of scaffolding to another or within or outside of the building. Rubbish may be lowered by way of chutes, taken down by hoists, or lowered in receptacles. C. Trash receptacles: PCCA will provide a dumpster, located as approved by the Owner s Representative. Trash shall be emptied each day into provided dumpster. 3.5 Noise Control A. Activities that generate noise or vibration and interrupt PCCA functions or create public disturbances shall be required to be performed during off-hours. 3.6 Schedules and Payments A. Schedule of Values: The Contractor shall submit to the OR a schedule of estimated values of all parts of the work. The breakdown of costs on the Schedule of Values shall follow the divisions used in the project specifications and shall reflect major items and groups of items shown on the Contractor s project schedule. B. Scheduling & Payments: The Contractor shall submit to the OR for approval a Gantt bar chart project schedule within 14 days calendar days after the date of contract award. No work shall start at the site until the project schedule has been approved by the OR. 3.7 Cutting and Patching A. Existing work shall be cut, drilled, altered, removed, or temporarily removed and replaced as necessary for performance of work under the contract. Work that is replaced shall match similar existing work. Structural members shall not be cut or altered, except where noted on drawings, without authorization of the OR. Work to remain in place which is damaged or defaced during this contract shall be restored to match the conditions existing at the time of award of the contract, at no additional cost to the PCCA.
