Professional Summary [Detailed CV follows on Page 1-14] Dr. Jahangir Achakzai is Associate Dean and Associate Professor (TTS) of Economics at the University of Balochistan (UOB). He has worked as Dean Faculty of Management Sciences of UOB during 2009-10. Dr. Achakzai completed his PhD in Economics from University of Balochistan and WTO Secretariat Geneva, Switzerland in 2006. He has been serving the University as faculty member for the last 25 years (1990-2015), most recently as Head of the Economics Department. He serves on several high-level committees/ commissions and taskforces of the government. He is also a referee for numerous academic journals. His research interests lie in the areas of international trade, regional trade, development economics; and agricultural economics. He has authored or co-authored more than 50 articles, book chapters and professional reports. He is the author of District Profile (Gazetteer) of Loralai; Chaghi; Kech; Kharan; Barkhan; Khuzdar, and Kech (Updated Version 2003) under the Dutch Govt: Project Improving the System of Development Planning in Balochistan (IMPLAN) in collaboration with Planning & Development Department Government of Balochistan Quetta. Member Delegation/ International Negotiation Visited different Universities of Thailand in 2009 as member of the University delegation in order to establish linkages among the faculty as well as students, to negotiate admission and tuition fees and to sign MOUs with Universities of Thailand AS member of the delegation with Vice chancellor University of Balochistan visited different Universities of Islamic Republic of Iran in 2005 in order to establish linkages among the universities of both the neighboring countries 20.
