GEOTECHNICAL SERVICES DEEPWATER GEOTECHNICAL SAMPLING, PISTON CORING AND GEOCHEMICAL SURVEY Talisman (Sageri) Ltd. Makassar Strait South Sulawesi Indonesia Description: PT EGS Indonesia has recently completed a comprehensive geotechnical, geochemical and bathymetric survey for Talisman (Sageri) Ltd. in the Sageri block, located in 2000m water depth offshore Makassar, South Sulawesi, Indonesia. The work was completed in November 2009. The survey work was designed to acquire and process data, by deploying during a single campaign: heat flow measurements using a 6m Lister-type probe; geochemical and geotechnical sampling and analyses with piston-coring acquisition; hydrographic acquisition during seabed survey (multi-beam bathymetry and backscatter imaging). The survey work was carried out using the Indonesian Research Vessel KR Baruna Jaya VIII. For the geochemical sampling and heatflow measurement, PT EGS Indonesia was assisted by TDI Brooks International Inc., who also carried out the geochemical sample analysis in their laboratories in Texas, USA. The final survey program consisted of acquisition of just over 1000km of bathymetric data covering several 10km x 10m blocks of interest, thirty 6m piston cores and 10 heatflow probes, all in water depths of ranging from 1400m to 2100m. Final charting and reporting was carried out EGS own office facilities in Jakarta. PT EGS Indonesia Tel: +62 21 2664 6729 Fax: +62 21 2664 6730 Email: egsindo@egssurvey.com
METOCEAN & MARINE ENVIRONMENT PERTAMINA TRANS JAVA GAS PIPELINE PHASE III MEASUREMENT OF CURRENTS AT EIGHT LOCATIONS Pertamina Pagerungan Island Porong, Surabaya Indonesia Description: EGS was instructed to undertake environmental measurements through Pertamina, as a part of a metocean condition survey between Pagerungan Island and Porong, Surabaya. The objective of the survey was to measure currents close to the seabed at eight positions along the East Java Gas Pipeline. The instruments were installed in August 2006 and recorded current measurements for a period of 65 days, until November 2006. Identical sets of instruments were deployed at each location. This consisted of an Aanderaa Instruments model RCM9LW acoustic current meter deployed together with an ORE coastal acoustic release transponder (CART) system. The installation was carried out from the PT Sudjaca Palembang tug utility vessel, Tug Boat Pesut 1. The recovery was carried out from the oceanographic survey vessel, RV Baruna Jaya 7.
