In particular, the programme is designed to meet the needs of students who want to enter the hospitality industry with a customer/guest service focus, and does not require study in food preparation and cookery. Graduates of this qualification will be able to: Monitor and maintain health and safety, food safety and security practices to ensure own safety and minimise potential hazards when serving customers. Communicate effectively when serving customers and behave in a professional manner with colleagues, managers and customers. Follow standard operating procedures to deal with familiar problems in a hospitality establishment. To establish standards of professional practice for advanced food and beverage service that can provide customers with confidence in a range of hospitality environments. FACILITIES Scholars Training Restaurant is a fully licensed restaurant, open to the public on selected days for lunch and dinner from February to December. It is run by students from all of the hospitality programmes and is central to the students experiences. Please let us know your arrival details whether you ll be living in EIT accommodation or not. If you are staying in EIT accommodation, we will arrange for you to be collected from the Napier airport for FREE.
