Course Overview This qualification reflects the role of individuals with substantial experience in a range of settings who are seeking to further develop their skills across a wide range of business functions. This qualification is also suited to the needs of individuals with little or no vocational experience, but who possess sound theoretical business skills and knowledge that they would like to develop in order to create further educational and employment opportunities. Workplace Health and Safety introduces you to your legal responsibilities and obligations and how to establish, maintain and evaluate an organisation s work health and safety (WHS) policies, procedures and programs. You will learn marketing through the development of a media plan and develop an understanding of the basics of accounting and business law. Risk management skills will assist you in facing management challenges and implementing change across an organisation. The business environment also requires well developed skills in the use of a range of software packages so you will establish, document and implement consistent standards of organisation document design. You will also develop crucial skills in managing your work priorities and professional development and in taking responsibility for managing all aspects of the selection and induction of new staff. This course will suit you if you have considerable work experience and looking to progressing in the industry. The diploma is also advantageous if you want to fast-track to university studies in compatible subject areas. Australian Tertiary Admissions Rank (ATAR) is NOT an entry requirement for this course. Entry Requirements Participants must be at least 18 years of age, Students required LLN skills must to be at an ACSF level 3 for diploma courses. Students that may require assistance with low LLN levels are assisted by offering face to face training and reasonable adjustments made to the their course structure by making the training more personalised. Applicants are strongly encouraged to have completed a previous Certificate program or other relevant discipline before undertaking this course or have vocational experience in a senior management role. Due to the online pathway, students must have access to a suitable internet-enabled device with internet access.

What you will learn? This Diploma program prepares you to identify, research and apply specialist knowledge in a wide variety of fields in your capacity as a manager or business administrator. Particular focus is placed on the development and assessment of work priorities, business and workplace risks, and managing the recruitment process. Estimated Course Duration The course is typically studied over a 45 week period. Participants should expect to undertake approximately 54 hours of study per unit (10 hours per week), for the duration of the session schedule. Participants may complete the program earlier than these timelines through achievement of RPL or credit transfer. Course Delivery & Location This course is delivered via online study option, at your home or work. In addition our Student Support Centre Level 1, 1100 Pascoe Vale Road, Broadmeadows Victoria 3047 is available for local students for extra support and also one-on-one time with their Trainer. Assessment Student progress is assessed through a combination of questioning, observations, demonstrations and project work. Credit Transfer and RPL Recognition of Prior Learning is available to all students. Please refer to the mytime Learning Participant Handbook for further information. Pathways Graduates of the BSB50215 Diploma of Business are able to pursue further study with an Advanced Diploma of Business or Management or Equivalent at a variety of Australian training providers.

Work Placement The BSB50215 Diploma of Business does not involve any mandatory work placements. Students studying without employment are encouraged to undertake a voluntary work placement. mytime Learning can assist in establishing a suitable work placement for individual needs. Career Opportunities This course is for persons who want to work in roles such as Executive Officers, Project Consultants or Program Coordinators in a variety of industry sectors. If you already possess substantial business experience in a range of settings, or if you possess sound theoretical business skills and knowledge you can do this course to further develop your expertise across a range of business functions to create greater educational or employment opportunities. Education Our Student Support Centre is operating solely to provide students with full educational and technical support. Students have access to a full array of Online Trainers and Support Staff through email, phone, web cam and in person. Disability/ Personal Issues Our Student Support Centre is fully accessible to people impaired by a range of physical and mental disability. We ensure that participants with disability are able to use general support services and we facilitate the provision of specialised support services. Course Structure This is the current qualification of BSB50215 Diploma of Business Qualification (Release 2) from the BSB Training Package. Eight units of competency in total are required. The course unit selection represents a reduced suite of elective unit options that have been selected and offered by mytime Learning this may not include the full elective unit suite of options available under the national qualification packaging rules. Elective 40 Total Nominal Hours 430 Nominal Hours Nominal hours are an allocation to describe how long a participant who does not hold any of the competencies identified in the relevant units of competency would take to develop all the required skills and knowledge. This nominal duration includes all teaching and learning activities such as guided learning (classes, lectures, tutorials, online or self-paced study), individual study, research, learning activities in the workplace and assessment activities. The amount of training provided by of the Phoenix Institute is part of the overall volume of learning and relates primarily to formal activities including classes and other activities as well as workplace learning.

VET FEE-HELP is a loan for all or part of your tuition fees, which the Australian Government pays directly to the RTO. The great thing about VET FEE-HELP is that you don t have to make any repayments until you have a job and your income reaches a certain level, which for the 2014 / 15 income year is $53,345 and for 2015/2016 income year is $54,126. The loans are then repaid effortlessly through the tax system. Who can apply for VET FEE-HELP? To be eligible to apply for VET FEE-HELP you must be either: Australian citizens or permanent humanitarian visa holders who will be resident in Australia for the duration of their study Be an eligible student enrolled on or before the census date in an eligible unit of study Meet the tax file number requirements Not have exceeded the FEE-HELP Loan Limit, which is $96,000 (2014) and $97,728 (2015). Full Fee for Service International students must be able to provide a Passport and applicable Visa. For Australian students, not under VET- Fee Help must provide current Photo I.D. and a Medicare Care Card.
