Introduction The Diploma of Business has been custom designed and will be delivered by The Entourage Education Group (RTO 41185) in partnership with Royal Rehab College (RTO 90546). Students will be enrolled with Royal Rehab College to enable them to access VET FEE- HELP. Royal Rehab College is responsible for the issuing the Diploma. The College meets the administrative, delivery, staffing, facility, marketing, financial, quality assurance and assessment standards regulated by the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA). Also, ASQA monitors & subjects Royal Rehab College to regular external audits to verify adherence to these standards. This booklet is to be read in conjunction with the Student Handbook that contains policies, procedures and information that generally apply to all accredited courses delivered by Royal Rehab College. The Entourage was founded in 2010 by Jack Delosa and provides a range of training programs focussed on business entrepreneurship. For details about The Entourage, visit www.the-entourage.com.au Application Process People interested in the Diploma of Business will be directed to a course landing page on The Entourage website. Upon completion of the expression of interest form on the landing page, we contact the applicant and conduct a telephone interview to answer any questions and assess the applicant s suitability for the program. This will include how we can best meet any specific learning needs. If the applicant decides to apply to enrol in the Diploma, they receive an email with links to; Student Handbook Course Information Booklet (including intake dates and fee information) Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) form Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) information VET FEE-HELP information and application Enrolment Form Following a review of the enrolment application, successful applicants will received a confirmation of enrolment letter and their logon and password for the online student portal. They will also receive information about their dedicated trainer/ Course Delivery The content of the Diploma of Business includes a highly customised mix of videos featuring Jack Delosa and experts in business entrepreneurship. In addition, there will be learning slides, webinars, a list of specialised readings, case studies and customised assessment tasks. With regular intake dates, each cohort of students will form a learning community that will be connected through our custom designed student portal. 4
Each group of students will have a dedicated assessor to maximise continuity and shared learning experience. Scheduled telephone tutorials with this assessor will cover some assessment tasks and provide learning support which will involve some of the following: Interpretation activities; Research activities; The creation of business documents and reports; Preparation for skills assessment; and The application of knowledge and skills to the business environment The assessor will mark the assessments and provide email and telephone support for students. There will be 2 x 1 day workshops each year held in Sydney. Attendance at these workshops is not mandatory and these do not relate to the written assessments that you are required to submit. The 8 units of competence in the Diploma of Business will be released progressively over the 12 month course. Each unit release will incorporate related assessment tasks. Student Support On a regular basis, students are contacted by our WOW Guru student supporter to check how they are going. The Guru works closely with the dedicated assessor to provide ongoing student support. If a student requires welfare and guidance services, The Entourage will assist by providing information about appropriate providers. Please contact The Entourage on 1300 496 488 for details. Assessment Procedures In general terms assessment during training will involve Verbal questions during telephone tutorials Written responses to questions, assignments and case studies Portfolio of evidence You will be given advice on the timing and form of assessment. You will be given an opportunity for two re-assessments for any competencies not achieved on the first attempt. Fees The full fee for the Diploma is $16,980. VET FEE-HELP is available to assist eligible students to pay their tuition fees. Effectively the VET FEE-HELP loan scheme allows you to study now, pay later. You are eligible for VET FEE-HELP if you: are an Australian citizen or permanent humanitarian visa holder; have not exceeded the FEE-HELP limit, which is $97,728 for 2015; meet the tax file number (TFN) requirements; apply prior to the census date Once you have a job and your income reaches $53,345 (for the 2014/15 financial year) your VET FEE-HELP loan will begin to be repaid through the tax system. 5
Prior to applying for a VET FEE-HELP loan students must read the current version of the VET FEE-HELP Information Booklet and FAQ s at www.studyassist.gov.au In addition, specific policies and procedures that relate to VET FEE-HELP are contained in the Student Handbook. A schedule of dates for Units of Study and VET FEE-HELP census dates are located at the back of this booklet. For students who do not wish to access VET FEE-HELP, fees are charged monthly over the 12 months of the course. The first payment is payable when a student has received a confirmation of enrolment. The initial monthly fee payment of $1,415 must be paid prior to you receiving the logon for your course. You will be suspended from the course if fees are not paid as required. The fee for recognition of prior learning (RPL) is $13,360 plus a non-refundable $300 application fee. Refunds students who are paying by monthly debit Students who wish to withdraw must do so in writing and send an email to; diploma@theentourage.com.au with the following details; Student name: Date of cancellation: Reason for cancellation: We will provide a refund for any part of your course that has been paid for but not commenced via a logon to the student portal. Qualification Students successfully completing all assessment requirements for the qualification will be awarded a BSB50215 Diploma of Business. Students completing assessment requirements for part of the qualification will be awarded a Statement of Attainment indicating which units of competency they have completed. All assessments must be submitted within 52 weeks of the enrolment date, which is the close off date for the course. An additional period of time equivalent to the appeal period of 4 weeks is allowed in addition to the 52 weeks. Competencies Competencies to be achieved during training are listed on page 8 of this booklet. Competencies describe how people should perform a job or work role. List of Competencies Stage of Quest Craft your Vision Start before you re ready Build an Attraction Model Unit Name BSBWOR501 Manage personal work priorities and professional development The first session concerns how to establish personal work goals and how to serve as a positive role model. Will promote the importance of Vision, Mission, Values (VMV) as the foundation for the rest of the course. BSBMKG501 Identify and evaluate marketing opportunities This unit looks at identifying new markets and determining whether they would be attractive and profitable to enter. It will include how to identify an opportunity and then quickly test it to see if it is an opportunity with product/market fit. BSBMKG502 Establish and adjust the marketing mix We discover how to establish a marketing mix that best satisfies the target market & meets marketing objectives. It will focus on building an attraction model i.e. once we have proven demand for the product/service how do we then get people to find and want it? How You Will Be Assessed Assessment tasks will involve examining case studies and how VMV is set by entrepreneurs. Also, there are written questions on how you go about setting your own VMV. Written questions on how to assess market fit and the tools that can be used. Written questions on how attraction models work and their effectiveness. Become a Sales Master BSBSLS501 Develop a sales plan We explore setting sales targets, developing a sales plan and monitoring results. Written questions on how to develop a sales plan and the importance in building market share. 7
Dominate Online BSBMKG510 Plan e-marketing communications This unit covers developing and implementing an e-marketing strategy and a website marketing plan. It also includes measuring the effectiveness of website marketing activities. These are the crucial steps in owning an online space & supercharging the attraction model and sales processes. Written questions on executing a marketing strategy and evaluating its effectiveness. Know Your Numbers Manage and Lead Play the Bigger Game BSBGOV403 - Analyse financial reports and budgets This unit explores setting budgets, monitoring revenues and expenditures to ensure you can hit those budgets. BSBINN502 - Build and sustain an innovative work environment This unit has a focus on management & leadership as well as innovation. It shows the importance of making innovation an integral part of leadership and management activities. The unit also information on proactively sharing relevant information, knowledge and skills with employees. BSBMGT403 Implement continuous improvement This unit explores monitoring the current operations of the business. It also covers implementing continuous improvement to drive the business forward & ensuring the new business will continue to improve & grow, thus allowing the entrepreneur to focus on the big, strategic issues. Written questions on budget setting and the importance of financial management. Written questions on identifying area for innovation and the importance of leading a business. Written questions on how to scale a business and maintaining growth strategies. When you have successfully completed all units of competency, you will be awarded a BSB50215 Diploma of Business. If you have successfully completed one or more units of competency, but not the required number for the full qualification, you will be issued with a Statement of Attainment for those units. 8
