What is XMC? In order to understand XMC, you must first understand Master s Commission. It is an intensive discipleship program that can be summed up in one statement: Knowing God and Making Him Known. This is the heartbeat of Master s Commission. It was birthed in 1988 and many students around the world have been discipled through this program. XMC believes that everything done as an outward expression of faith is a reflection of an inward change. XMC is known for aggressive travel, evangelism, and relevant presentation, but we understand that what God does in you is ten thousand times more important than what He does through you. Because of this, we focus heavily on Lifestyle Worship. XMC is for a generation of visionaries, revolutionaries, worldchangers, and ordinary people that all have one extraordinary thing in common: they have decided to LIVE ON PURPOSE. The only way to know someone is to spend time with him, hearing his voice, seeing his heart, and watching his actions. The same works in your relationship with God. Prayer: Master s Commission is known for intense prayer. We pray individually and together, asking God to change us, mold us, and move on behalf of our generation. We know that God will speak to you during these moments with Him; therefore, journaling is also an important part of these times with God. Scripture Memory: Psalms 119:11 says to hide God s word in your heart, so you will not sin against Him. At XMC, you will learn hundreds of Scriptures that will give you depth and insight into God s will for your life. Bible Reading: Another discipline in our walk with God is to study His Word. God s Word will come alive to you like never before as you search out His heart. Many times we read God s word out of obligation, but not out of a passion to know Him. You will discover that passion and learn how to apply His principles throughout your life. Ministry Practicum Classes: Ministry Practicum is just that practical ministry application. It s the how-to and whys of ministry. West Coast Bible College: We partner with West Coast Bible College, which enables you to achieve a bachelor s degree in a two-year period in one of the following areas: Church Business Administration General Ministries Worship Arts Biblical Counseling Youth Ministries Missions
Basic Requirements and Commitments of XMC - You must be 17 years of age or older; have completed high school or received your GED. - You must be willing and able to commit to no dating or outside employment during the duration of your first year. - You must have health insurance or ability to cover your own medical needs. - You must have a valid driver s license. XMC Institutes XMC Institutes are designed to give students hands-on experience and growth in areas specific to their callings. All Institutes are structured through Crossroads Church. XMC staff or senior staff of Crossroads Church leads each Institute. Missions: Reaching the lost is God s heart. The Great Commission is to go into all the world and preach the Gospel. Reaching your community, your state, your country, and your world, is key to fulfilling God s vision. From meal ministry to hospital visitation, from the soup kitchen, to college campuses, from the inner city sidewalk Sunday school to a gypsy village in a foreign country, what makes this Missions Institute unique is that it is led by seasoned missionaries that have spent years on the field and in Para-church organizations. Media: Why should the world have all the cool toys? Competing for the attention of a media-driven generation, Media Institute teaches the importance of relevancy and proves that all creativity comes from the Creator. Media Institute is heavily involved in filmmaking for sermon illustrations and video announcements, and gets hands-on experience with some of the best equipment and creative teachers in the country. Media Institute studies film, design, drama-writing, marketing strategies, stage design, and sermon preparation. From ministry on the road to weekly youth services, to this application, Media Institute has a hand in it all. Student Ministry: Student Ministry is more than games and cool trips. It s not a babysitter s club or some stepping stone to a greater ministry in the future. Student Ministry is a call to reach the generation of today! At XMC, we understand that the Gospel is sacred, but the method is not. Because of this, we take a very aggressive approach to reaching students for Christ in a relevant way. We want to equip you to do this through ministry practicum classes, campus evangelism, preaching opportunities, and the empowerment you need to build a thriving student ministry. Children Ministry: Each week hundreds of children are reached through Crossroads Church. At XMC, we believe that building a stronger relationship between a child and God will produce stronger whole family units, the way God intended it to be. In this track, we learn how to use puppets, games, songs, skits, stories, contests, prizes, and big animal friends to challenge little people to live big lives. Worship: Worship Institute is for those who are interested in all aspects of worship. Worship is not just what a person does on stage, it is who he is and how he lives daily; it s a lifestyle of obedience. Topics with spiritual application such as the heart of a worshipper, the life of a worshipper, and how God desires to be worshipped, are taught within this institute. Elements such as music theory and songwriting are studied. Something that is essential within this track is the element of mentoring. Seasoned Worship Leaders spend time teaching and mentoring the art of adoration and devotion to God.
