Dear Colleagues, It is a pleasure to welcome you to Córdoba for the celebration of the 1st Basic Course for Postgraduates of the European Society of Endocrinology (ESE). The University of Córdoba, through its Department of Cell Biology, Physiology and Immunology, is proud to host this important Course, which aims at providing an ample and in-depth perspective of basic research in Endocrinology across Europe and to promote the understanding and research on the cellular and molecular processes underlying the normal and pathological functioning of endocrine systems. The Course is organized in the form of state-of-the-art conferences on selected topics, where leading researchers in the different fields of Endocrinology will present and, through interactive discussions, will offer their expertise on how to approach and solve current, exciting issues in Endocrinology. The Course will take place at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Córdoba, where most sessions will be held, and in the nearby Colegio Mayor Nuestra Señora de la Asunción, where accommodation and meals will be provided. We trust that all participants in the Course will enjoy this opportunity to foster their research interests and update their knowledge in Endocrinology, and to develop new collaborations for endocrine research. Last, but not least, we want to invite you to visit our city, Córdoba, one of the most beautiful and historical cities in Europe, and a modern treasure recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage.
