WHAT S IT ABOUT Got your eye on something special? You may need a bank account either to save your money or spend it. If you are 12 years of age or older and in second level education our Student Account and Student Saver Account have been designed with you in mind to make managing your money really easy! 02

This booklet tells you all you need to know about opening your very own bank account and all the benefits that come with it, such as Spark Something, Build a Bank Challenge and the Future ME programme. 03

HERE S WHAT OUR STUDENT ACCOUNT DOES Our AIB Student Account is a bank account that lets you get to your money wherever you are and whenever you want. It s your money after all. The account is designed to fit in with the way you live your life. 04

No Maintenance and Transaction Fees We don t charge you anything for using your account. Normally we call these charges maintenance and transaction fees. There are some other fees that may be charged and you can see what they are in our brochure A Guide to Fees and Charges for Personal Accounts. Pick it up at any AIB branch or online at www.aib.ie at the bottom of the web page. Get a Debit Card With your AIB Student Account, you have the option to get an AIB Debit Card, which works with a Chip in the card and a four digit number called a Personal Identification Number (PIN) that you will need to remember. You can use it in shops and restaurants, online, or over the phone to buy things and also to take your money out of an ATM. No Government Stamp Duty We ll pay the Government Stamp Duty on your card. Currently, it s 2.50 if you use your card for either ATM / In branch or for a purchase (in shops, online or over the phone) and 5 if you use your card for both. We ll pay that for you, but if this changes, we ll tell you a month in advance. No Charge for Foreign Money We won t charge you commission when you get cash in a foreign currency or put it into your account. To avail of this additional benefit, you must advise staff at the time of each transaction that you are an AIB Student Account holder. These additional financial benefits are only available on face-to-face transactions undertaken at the branch and are not available on any transactions undertaken at an ATM, AIB Self Service Banking or through any other electronic means. You can find out what we would have charged you in our Schedule of International Transaction Charges at any branch or at www.aib.ie 10 Carphone Warehouse Voucher When you open an AIB Student Account between 29 May and 31 October 2015, you will get a 10 Carphone Warehouse voucher. This voucher is redeemable at any Carphone Warehouse store against phone credit (any operator), handsets (prepay or postpay) or accessories. You can also shop with your voucher online at carphonewarehouse.ie The voucher lasts for 12 months and is for students who are 12-18, in second level education. One voucher per account, no cash alternative. You get the voucher by email, so you need to provide us with a valid email address. If you are under 16, you will need the consent of a parent or guardian to open a Student Account or apply for a Debit Card. 05

HOW TO OPEN YOUR AIB STUDENT ACCOUNT Step 1 There s a couple of things we ll need to get you started PROOF OF IDENTITY To prove who you are you can bring along: A Passport, or A Drivers Licence, or If you don t have any of these, call into any branch and talk to us. PROOF OF ADDRESS To prove where you live you can bring along: A letter or bill addressed to you from a bank or mobile phone company, or A letter from your Parent or Guardian confirming your name, address, that you are in second level education and living with your Parent or Guardian. If you are under 16 your Parent or Guardian will have to come to the branch to show some of their details. AN EMAIL ADDRESS You need an email address in order to get your 10 Carphone Warehouse voucher. 06

Step 2 Go to any AIB branch TALK TO ONE OF OUR STUDENT TEAM Checklist You need to bring the original documents (no photocopies please) and any letters or bills must be dated within six months If you are under 16 you will have to bring your Parent or Guardian with you to give consent to open the account. Register today and be able to check how much cash is in your account from anywhere in the world. Mobile Banking It s easy to be in control of your money with the AIB Mobile Banking App from your smart phone. By downloading the AIB Mobile Banking App and registering for AIB Phone & Internet Banking you can securely check your bank account and transfer funds while on the go. You can download the AIB Mobile Banking App at no cost to you * from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. * Data charges may apply. AIB Card Reader The Card Reader is a security device that works in conjunction with your AIB Debit Card and PIN to generate unique security codes which are used to complete certain AIB Phone & Internet Banking transactions. Me2U Now you can send money between phones with the Me2U App. AIB s Me2U is secure and easy to use. It lets you send money securely from your AIB Debit Card to friends, family and anyone with a mobile number, as long as they have a euro Visa card. You can download the app from the Apple or Google Play Store. Find out more on www.aib.ie/me2u How do I register for Me2U? HERE S WHAT OUR STUDENT SAVER ACCOUNT DOES Start to save now and by putting aside small amounts every month you can have money for special occasions like Christmas, summer holidays or a laptop. Save as little or as much as you like and withdraw anytime. Our Student Saver Account is designed with you in mind offering great interest rates on balances up to 1,000. If you are aged 12 to 17 and would like to open a Student Saver Account visit www.aib.ie/savings to find out what you need to bring with you to open a Student Saver Account in your local branch. If you are under 16 your parent or guardian will need to provide a copy of your birth certificate or the applicable court order (or other relevant documentary evidence) as proof of parenthood/guardianship. We also need suitable documentation to verify both your identity and residential address. No maintenance or transaction fees apply but there may be other service charges. CHALLENGE Are you a 4th or 5th year second level student? Is your school involved in the annual Build a Bank Challenge? Every year, schools nationwide take part in the Build a Bank Challenge where they set up and run their very own School Bank with the help of their local AIB Branch Student Officer and AIB Youth Ambassador Colm The Gooch Cooper. This is a great learning experience where you get the chance to design, brand, promote and run your own local school bank. FUTURE ME What is FUTURE ME all about? Our Financial Education programme is an exciting and engaging series of lessons designed for you delivered by your teachers during classroom time. AIB provide full support to participating schools with a comprehensive teaching pack encouraging you to plan your future and helping you with money management skills. To register your school or for more information drop into your local branch and talk to the Student Officer. 15

AIB Student Account Terms and Conditions 1. These terms and conditions (the Terms and Conditions ) set out important information in relation to the operation of your AIB Student Account. These terms and conditions replace any other AIB Student Account Terms and Conditions that may have previously been advertised. 2. These Terms and Conditions are in addition to and should be read in conjunction with our Terms and Conditions for Current, Demand Deposit and Masterplan Accounts, which also apply to your AIB Student Account. In addition, you should also read the application form completed by you when applying for your AIB Student Account and all other documents referred to in our Terms and Conditions for Current, Demand Deposit and Masterplan Accounts (for example, our fees and charges booklets). These are all additional conditions. If there is any conflict between these Terms and Conditions and what is provided for in the additional terms and conditions, these Terms and Conditions will prevail. 3. We may also provide other services (for example, AIB Phone & Internet Banking) and/or facilities to you in connection with your Account and these will have their own terms and conditions. The terms and conditions of these additional services and/or facilities will prevail in the event that there is any conflict between them and these Terms and Conditions. 4. You are eligible to apply for an AIB Student Account if you are between the ages of 12 and 18 years and in part-time or full-time second level education in Ireland. 5. Upon you attaining the age of 18 years, unless we agree otherwise, we may convert the AIB Student Account to an AIB Student Plus Account or another type of current account. The Bank s Terms and Conditions for Current, Demand Deposit and Masterplan Accounts will continue to apply. On conversion, any benefits, discounts or special offers that you may have previously been entitled to as an AIB Student Account holder will no longer apply. We will advise you at least two months prior to your AIB Student Account converting to an AIB Student Plus Account or another type of current account. 6. The associated benefits of an AIB Student Account (the Benefits ) are the benefits, promotional offers and discounts which you enjoy when you hold an AIB Student Account and they are only available to AIB Student Account holders (although we may, at our discretion, extend the Benefits to other customers). Any benefits or discounts that you may have previously been entitled to, will expire upon you converting to, or opening an AIB Student Account. 7. We may alter these Terms and Conditions (including the withdrawal or variation of the Benefits) from time to time. If any alteration is to your disadvantage, we will notify you in advance in accordance with the Terms and Conditions for Current, Demand Deposit and Masterplan Accounts. 8. Any reference in these Terms and Conditions to you and your includes your personal representatives and successors. Any reference to we, us and our means Allied Irish Banks, p.l.c. and includes our successors and assigns. Terms and conditions apply.
