Everything you create/develop/suggest must follow the Style Guidelines provided by WS Motors. The style guideline is available at the end of this document. Sometimes, wireframes, drafts and examples are provided by the client to help you to develop the deliverables. The Test Project is divided into four sessions of 2.5 hours. A set of deliverables will be required at the end of each session. Date 20.02.15 2 of 29

DAY 1 MORNING WS Motors staff has specified the following deliverables for session one of the project. They may not be carried over to subsequent sessions. Deliverables ID Name Description 1.1 Schedule for Revision A system to help WS Motors staff to schedule vehicles revisions is required. 1.1 Schedule for Revision Over the 65 countries around the world, customers would be able to ask WS Motors affiliates to schedule their vehicle revisions. Each affiliate is going to use separate applications for that purpose. Once a month, each affiliate would be able to send a summary file for WS Motors main factory, containing all schedules and services executed for customers. The application will be used and managed by WS Motors staff only. Care must be taken to identify all fields with labels, using significant labels for buttons and window identification. You are required to develop the application to support the scheduling of vehicle revisions. You are required to create an application with the following features: Customer and Vehicle registration (Customer & Vehicles screen) o Customers must be registered only once o A customer has one or more vehicles. Each vehicle must be registered only once. Schedule mechanical revision for Vehicles (Schedule screen) o Once a new schedule is generated, it must be recorded with the Scheduled status. Attendance/Appointments registration (Attendance screen) o Provide a search mechanism to enable users to find records of scheduled revisions to be attended. Date 20.02.15 3 of 29

Main screen o This screen must be the first object displayed on database application after user opens it. o A set of buttons, organized as a main menu, must call the 3 action (registration) screens listed above. o Another set of buttons, organized as a secondary menu, must call a pop up screen containing the required filter options and/or print button for the 3 reports listed below. o Develop the following group of reports to support the workshop staff (Reports screen): Create a list of vehicles scheduled on a specific day Allow the user to filter data for jobs by a specific date. o Fields required on the report list: Vehicle model Vehicle chassis number Customer name (first name + last name) Date + Time of scheduling o Order the list showing the latest Time scheduled first. Create a list of vehicles scheduled on a range of days Allow the user to filter data and report for a range of two dates o Fields required on the report list: Vehicle model Vehicle chassis number Customer name (first name + last name) Date + Time scheduled Create a statistical pie chart to compare the attendances for each vehicle model. Identify the report with the following title: Which vehicle model is most repaired? All action buttons or controls must have a tool tip with the same content of its label. Date 20.02.15 4 of 29

BASE ENTITY RELATIONSHIP Please, implement the following tables and fields. Customer Vehicle Schedule Change primary keys from ID single word for the composite ID_TableName. In the FirstName, LastName, Model, Description and Annotation fields only the first letter of each word in this field must be in uppercase, and all other lowercase. Be aware that every time new data is entered in the table, automatically the first letter of each word should be capitalized in this field. For example if is inserted roy boy the field must be updated to Roy Boy. The email must be validated so you have to check if the email follows one of the following formats: XXXXX@XXX.com or XXXX@XXX.com.XX Date 20.02.15 5 of 29

Create the necessary physical relationship between all tables. Each relationship must have the Referential Integrity enforced. o Export the relationship diagram to a.png image file named ER_Schedule.png Generate test data containing: o 16 customers 3 of them owns only two vehicles o Each of other customers has only one vehicle Deliver the database application file with the following name: ScheRev Date 20.02.15 6 of 29

DAY 1 AFTERNOON WS Motors staff has specified the following deliverables for session two of the project. They may not be carried over to subsequent sessions. Deliverables ID Name Description 2.1 Maintenance Record Sheet A system for workshop staff needs to be automated to improve the capacity of analysis and data tracking. 2.1 Maintenance Record Sheet A fast and easy solution for workshop problems with maintenance records was requested by the Main Engineer from WS Motors. Our workshops around the world can t track the information collected during the appointments. The data mining of workshop appointments is a valuable tool to identify what is going wrong with vehicles after they leave our factories. We received a copy of the printed sheet, shown in the figure below, which is used on workshop floor. You are requested to automate it and to provide the following features on an Excel Spreadsheet: Data entry must happen on a customized Form. Engineers and Mechanics dislike filling a massive set of columns. All fields available in the figure file required for registering a maintenance record. The maintenance record must be available to be printed out. Please, provide a way for users to print a specific maintenance record according to layout of the figure, but remember that it is an official report, use the Style Guideline instructions to perform the correct formatting and use of diagrams. o Users must be able to query the maintenance records list using the Chassis no and the Entrance Date to find and print the selected record. Date 20.02.15 7 of 29

Create a Help sheet with instructions for users explaining how to insert appointment records, how to search for a specific record and how to print it out. Generate test data on the spreadsheet with at least 30 records, use a different range of dates and repair situations. Deliver the spreadsheet created with the following name MSR_2. Avoid the use of images, arts and shapes which do not transmits the idea of movement. On all of your solutions, consider that the WS Motors users are not well familiarized with IT stuff, so, be careful while developing the requested solutions. Especially on database applications and spreadsheets, you must always provide a way for users to identify what they are exactly doing, in which step of a process they are, what they are doing wrong and what they need to do to perform the desired action. Date 20.02.15 15 of 29
